Now that people are saying Kraven the Hunter is actually good since it hit Netflix, it has struck me that the general audience is just folks looking to be entertained.

I never thought AP bio was bad. Season 1 was solid but it didn't have much legs past that. Recently it hit netflix and got a bigger audience of devout fans claiming it to be some kind of overlooked gem.

I'm a lifelong always sunny fan. I feel like middle america just isn't aware shows like Archer and IASIP exist until they hit netflix (again, they have in the past) and except for when they run into something by Netflix hitting them over the head with it they are just fine watching reality show after reality show after singing competition show followed by another singing competition show. Yet we wonder why people don't make good movies anymore?

The audience is so small the profitability doesn't align. Make someone think about anything too hard and they curl into a ball and turn defensive and go back to their comfort zone of another mindless reality show.

tl;dr:
Sherlock is the GOAT series.

Orrrrrrr, maybe people who spend money to go to a theatre are more a nobby, like people who pay out the arse for less food at upscale restaurants.

And maybbbeeee some shows are more enjoyable without a week between episodes.

very solid points that I can agree with. still doesn't explain the bump these shows get when moving to netflix.

If Netflix ever put Justified on "Recently added top 10" banner it would become the hottest show in America when we've all been telling people how good it was for a decade. Black Sails is proof of this.

I tried watching black mirror last night and it was fricking terrible. Turned it off episode 2.

Most boring shite I’ve ever seen in my life.

the order you watch the episodes doesn't matter on that show. there are some absolute arse episodes and some really good ones.

if you didn't like episode 2 you probably wont like the show though.

We all used to be this way. Movies are just meant to be enjoyed. But now with social media, everyone thinks they're freaking Roger Ebert and nitpick the shite out of every single movie/show. It's become incredibly negative and that's a bummer.

Netflix shows are garbage. They have to use some sort of Mad Libs fill in the blank algorithm script maker program . Real people cannot be in the writers room.

Lots of folks dropped cable and never watch Network TV. Thus they never see those shows until they hit some streaming service. Simple as that. Plus even folks with cable prefer to watch when they want not the night it airs so plenty of folks who have cable don't poke around until shows hit streaming.

I not only can't think of the last time I watched network tv, other than Survivor, i don't know the name of any network show. I'm sure they still have some form of Law & Order on and I guess the Simpsons. That's it and I doubt I am the only cord cutter who has no clue what the current network lineup has going.

yeah. it reminds me of the kids that learn about the moon landing conspiracy for the first time and then it's all they talk about.

these people act like Hollywood being full of self-important assholes is a new thing to the past 10 years.

People want something in the background while they scroll tiktok

I rarely if ever take people’s suggestions seriously bc YOU HAFTA WATCH DA TIGER KING !1!!!!!!

and people watch so much slop that I know 99% of Netflix especially is garbage

It’s whatever is trending on the Netflix is what low iq people will watch. Shite like sugar magnolia and virgin river and all their other terrible shows.

They don’t search or do research they just queue up the top 10 and let the content consume them

It is absolutely not. How and why are people saying such a thing?
