Michael Keaton's breakout role.

The girl I had just started dating (now my wife) said we had to watch it because this guy Keaton was so hilarious.

He was great, but my main takeaway was that Henry Winkler had comedic range as a straight man. He was great in this movie, even with Keaton exploding off the screen.

for the time period the movie was made it was very good but criminal it didnt have nudity. most movies of the time understood showing titties was expected for any good movie with attractive women in it.

thats the only thing i have negative about it, no bare titties, not even from the unknown girls no one knew

Other favorite line:

"Wanna know why I carry this tape recorder? To tape things. See, I'm an idea man, Chuck. I get ideas coming at me all day. I can't control 'em. I can't even fight 'em if I want to. You know, 'AHHH!' So I say 'em in here, and that way I never forget 'em. You see what I'm sayin'? "

My dude...the entire resolution of the movie happens at an upscale sex club. It's 5 straight minutes of bare tits.

Quotable

quote:

Winkler: As we sit here and idly chat, there are woman, female human beings, rolling around in strange beds with strange men, and we are making money from that.
Keaton: Is this a great country, or what?

quote:

Keaton: I wash my hands and my feet of you!

quote:

Keaton: I'm playing blackjack, right. They bar me! I'm out! I'm barred. I cant get it now. Right? You know why? Being too good a player.
Winkler: How much did you win?
Keaton: Well, you know, I was down a couple hundred. But they could tell I was good. You know. They looked at me, and they threw me out. They bar me.

So they start dealing me off the bottom. I can tell when they do that. So I get up and I yell at the dealer. He goes over to the pit boss. So I throw my complimentary watered-down drink in his fat face! pshhhh. Thats when they barred me ... for being too good a player.

quote:

Keaton: I gave you $100
Winkler: I didn't ask for it.
Keaton: That's what makes it such a beautiful gesture on my part!

A pre-fame Kevin Costner appears as one of the frat boys (his first feature?):

Little Ronnie Howard directs himself as the aggressive, bad, blind sax playing panhandler (and that is he and his wife making out in front of Fonzi's apartment):

Obviously Clint Howard, as well as cameos from Richard Belzer, Vincent Schiavelli and Charles Fleisher, but also (as a child) Shannen Doherty is the Bluebell Scout who blows the whistle on Fonzi:

If I can take a moment here and I mean what I'm about to say. I feel a lot of love in this room. I don't know, maybe it's me but, I'll tell you something. It was here a minute ago and it was really beautiful. So, at this moment, I think it's important that I see all of your breasts.
