6 astronauts(3 American, 3 Russian) are onboard the ISS when war between Russia and the US breaks out. Each are given orders to take over the ISS.
Pretty original idea, well written, good acting. Keeps you at the edge of your seat for sure in the second and third act.

Specifically because the Russians were white and not Chinese, if I’m not mistaken.

no it isnt, there were several movies using same script yet was on a shared moon base, like the ISS movie did, then there was one with 2 moon bases, one for each side.
in all of them, they had to decide to follow orders and try to kill each other, or ignore their orders that came from people on a now dead planet earth, and figure out how to live together and survive.
its far from original, but it is a decent story line to use, and most of the movies about that "end of earth" scenario were very good.

Sounds kind of like "2010: The Year We Make Contact."

Stuckmann has a review on it...
Stuckamn sucks. Only reviews movies he likes now and think it’s wrong to be vocally critical of movies.

Where did you watch it? Streaming or is it only in theaters?

Jeremy Jahns is the only YouTube movie reviewer I like. Stuckmann is so far up his own arse I can't watch him anymore

Wife and I went last night to the theatre and saw it.
We both liked it. It was a tight 95 minute movie that told a good story.

Back on Earth, the United States and the Soviet Union are on the brink of war. The Americans are ordered to leave the Leonov and move to the Discovery, with no further communication between the crews. Both ships plan to leave Jupiter in several weeks' time, but Bowman appears to Floyd, and says that everyone must leave within two days. Floyd confers with the skeptical Soviet captain, Tanya Kirbuk. As the crews agree to cooperate on an emergency departure, the Monolith suddenly disappears, and an ominous black spot appears in Jupiter's atmosphere. Neither ship has the fuel to reach Earth if they leave ahead of schedule, so the ships are docked together, and placed under the control of HAL 9000. Discovery's remaining fuel will be burned to propel the Leonov away from Jupiter; then Discovery will be undocked and left behind.
2010 The Year we make contact.
* Yeah, I know. Facts are annoying, stubborn things.

The 1984 film, 2010: The Year We Make Contact, has a plot that is somewhat similar. The Russians and Americans on a joint mission in space, then war breaks out on Earth, etc, etc.
This is a pretty good movies, if you have not seen it.
