I remember getting the original Madden for Sega Genesis back in 1990. My buddies and I would record games on the vcr and watch them back. The game was like nothing I had played before. Good times.

Randall Cunningham was a beast.

Yeah and I don’t really understand the reasoning behind it, jumping between the past and present added nothing

Madden 95 or 96 was when you could edit and create your own players. My teenage body couldn’t handle it

Also, me and my buddies waited in line for the PS2 release and went back to our apartment and played Madden all night

All I remember, was it was during the Kurt Warner Rams And they were unstoppable

That was probably the peak of Madden

I actually don't remember playing the earliest versions of Madden but I do remember playing Joe Montana football. Montana Football 94. It was the only game I ever remember staying up all night playing with a buddy. The Chiefs and I want to say the spin move was pretty unstoppable. Was so tired from playing all night I crashed my bike riding home from my buddies Kind of a core memory actually.

NFL 2K and Madden 03/04 are the goats.

ESPN NFL 2K5 on PS2 was the best football game ever made. I remember it was one of the first sports games to do online tournaments. The gameplay and graphics were so smooth.
