It’s a pronounced version of the word Genius

First two eps were incredible. The slow jamz with Foxx and through the wire with Pharrell scenes holy shite.
Will watch the third this evening.

Finished a little while ago. You can definitely see the change he goes through after losing his mother.
I was glad to see him and Coodie hooked back up after TLOP, and we got some raw footage of him and what he was thinking about while he was going through some of his bipolar episodes.
I feel like he's just surrounded himself by Yes men and thats why his albums have kind of fell off lately.
Donda was a great album and felt coherent for the most part. Maybe a little bloated but the bones of it are solid. Donda 2 in its current state is a hot mess. I hope he refines it and fixes his verses. Not a fan of mumble Kanye

Loving this documentary. A few of the scenes felt like De ja vu for me. As if I've seen them somewhere before.
Next thing you know, on YouTube I'm getting recommended a bunch of Kanye stuff. (How TF can they even track that, my YouTube and Netflix account are on 2 different email addresses and passwords)
I decided to listen to "Through the Wire" because that's one of my favorite songs. And Holy shite the video is nothing but different scenes from documentary!!! That was a lot of fun connecting the dots that I never connected before.
Edit: I'm an idiot. I probably should have watched part 2 before commenting

I just wanna preface this by saying I've always loved and will always love Kanye West. Finished watching episode 3 yesterday. What a sad ending to a great story.
You can tell he's not well and has nobody around him that will tell him that. Some of the stuff he says near the end about how "average people won't understand what he's saying because he just speaks in 100% truths." No shite. Cause you're trying to sound smarter and deeper than what you are and constantly speaking in riddles. It was pretty big of Coodie cutting the camera when it felt wrong to be filming his episodes.
Loved the ending when it throws back to Donda telling him the giant can't see the mirror. He clearly can't see the mirror anymore. Hope he can find his way back to his old self because I truly miss him.

Part 3 was like the other 2...amazing. Coodie said it best we all love Kanye but we may never know or understand Yeezy. I think after Donda died, Kanye went full Yeezy. That episode was hard to watch and I appreciate him cutting the camera off when he noticed an episode happening. I feel like we all know how this ends, I just hope we are wrong.
Funny how none of the footage showed any of his girlfriends. I thought that his breakup with alexis phifer led to 808 and Heartbreaks. That would have been some good footage.
Anyways, I thought it was great and completely respectful to Kanye and his mother. Idk how he could be upset about its release at all. Unless he's not compensated at all for it.
Edited bc I was wrong about Amber Rose. It was his breakup with fiancé alexis phifer.

Good to hear that part 3 is on par with the other two. Can't wait to watch tonight.

Everything they show inside the studio is fantastic
Also crazy that All Falls Down was basically ignored. very strange

Part 3 was rightfully different from the first two, but Coodie nailed it when he said something along the lines of "I have to accept the new Kanye as a piece of the entire Kanye".
Losing his Mom hit him hard. She was his role model and mentor who did an amazing job raising him. Never once in the early footage do you see him get heated or hostile with other rappers using him for his beats. He even calmly talked it out when they dissed him on the radio; here alone in BR that might've been a drive-by.
I have never followed the Kardashians and roll my eyes if my girl has it on TV, but I hate to see how hard the divorce is hitting Ye as well. He longs for that family connection. Now he's only surrounded by "yes" men who will never tell him if something is a bad idea or not. Even Bieber kept his distance.
Had a close friend go through something similar mentally. On top of the world, then lost it all after a few mental episodes/diagnosis. But looking back to the past at Kanye, that's where the creativity and passion came from. It's always been there, but the filter gets turned off and the brainstorming/rambling gets dialed up to 11.

What was sad to see was everyone acting like he was fricking insane because he tried to "leave the plantation."
Does Kanye clearly suffer from mental illness? Yes. However, him thinking that abortion is evil, and him advocating for Trump doesn't make him crazy.

the scene with Pharrell in ep 2 is amazing

Finishing up part 3 now and it blows my mind how the guys in the car with him while he is listening to the Tucker Carlson clip kept telling him it was negative and to stop listening while it was almost all positive. Then when they say they were taking him out of context Kanye tells "he's putting me in context."
Great, great documentary and an incredible insight into the mind of a great, troubled artist.

Phenomenal documentary, watched all three episodes tonight. It's clear taht the filmaker truly loves Kanye and the last portion tying back to the quote of his mother about the giant is a message to his friend. Sad to see how this level of fame infects a person. Something about Kanye strikes me that he is a good person with a good soul, and I hope he gets better. Another great recommendation I found from the MTV board.
