Said at the outset of this, it looked fricking terrible and had no interest in seeing. The whole musical shtick was stupid, but from the previews, it looked as if 90% of the movie would be "in his mind" and not really happening.

Enjoyed the first, but 0 chance I watch this steaming pile of shite.

I mentioned this in the other thread, but I didn't think it's as bad as I thought it would be. There was a lot of good stuff in the film. But I completely understand why this won't do well with general audiences. This movie will bomb.

I would potentially have watched this if it hadn’t come out on my birthday. But it did and it creeped me the frick out so nope.

I was watching Thursday Night Football last night, and they showed a commercial for the movie, and the first scene of the commercial is the Joker pointing a gun to his head. I am far from a prude, but is shite like that appropriate for programming that kids and young folks are probably watching? It further turned me off from ever wanting to see this movie. Too much depressing, dark, hopeless "entertainment" out there these days. Its gotten old. I'm good.

You ain't lyin'.

The modern obsession with sadism, mental illness, dysfunction and depression I hoped would have burned out back in the 90s when it still had a sense of humor to it. But it's just hung on... without the humor.

Today's world is often defined by a lack of clarity. Your post is a refreshing departure from this.

Surprised Phoenix would have agreed to do it.

PostTrak score was 40% positive from audiences, which is lower than Megalopolis (45%). The Cinemascore on this is gonna be brutal. It’s gonna fall like a rock.

Does Todd Phillips hate his audience? Love his old comedies but I feel like this guy is so far up his own arse now a days.

This is what happens when studios accidentally stumble on a rare gem of a success of a movie and then try to make Fleck happen again.

Sounds to me like they intentionally tried to drive a nail in this character once and for all. It's almost like they were embarrassed that the 1st movie did so well.

Fetch.

Sounds to me like a continuation of the ideas in the first one (which sucked), but now that people know this version of the character is connected to any greater "lore", the greater comic book movie-loving audience is mad now.

Then what the hell was the point of the 1st movie even and why bother titling it The Joker?

Make it a stand-alone, non DC related story and leave Bruce Wayne the hell out of it.

Pathetic.

From what I've heard, something definitely gets driven into this character in the movie.
