Why We Fight is first for me.

The one about Blythe is last.

I can’t remember which episode is which but my two favorites are the Battle Of the Bulge one and the one where they find the concentration camp.

I really like the first episode. I love a good training story line. I feel like it’s also probably the most important episode. Everything else is built off of that episodes tone and how you instantly get to know all the characters and develop their relationships so that you care about them immediately.

ETA: blythe is definitely last.

Hi-ho silver!

So many good episodes but my fav might be the one where Spears relieves the other major(?) and just runs in and wrecks shite. Also love the episode where Winters does something similar. Spears is a BMF but it's hard to not love Winters.

Somewhat off topic, I’m finally reading the book and I’m mad it took me so long. Great book.

Breaking Point is definitely #1. Lipton’s voiceover, Buck’s reaction to Toye and Guarnere, Dike’s failure, Spiers’ run, Shifty taking out the sniper, Lipton’s field commission…

So many great moments in one episode

I can't remember which one was being interviewed when he said something like, "my wife will tell you sometimes on a real cold night, the first thing I'll say is that I'm not in Bastogne".

God damn this is tough. The only one that I tend to skip is the one with Blythe but even then it’s a damn good episode. I think it all depends on how we rank them. Are we ranking them by favorite or by best of the best?

Breaking Point is tough because Buck, Joe Toye and Wild Bill all leave the front but it also marks the return of the badass that is Captain Speirs and Lip’s Voiceover added so much. Why We Fight is probably one of the best but it’s also harder to watch so it’s a little lower on my favorites.

Crossroads and Curahee, which are lower on your list, I absolutely fricking love. Might be two of my favorites outside of Bastogne & Day of Days. Just goes to show how tough this is

The battle in Carentan is fricking great, but then the episode goes downhill from there. I get what they were trying to say (hell, it's not hard. Spears says it all), and Blythe is probably the character that most closely resembles how I would act in that situation, but the episode comes off as a whiff.

I can pretty easily rank the bottom three for me, but from there I can't decide.

10) Carentan for the above mentioned. The second act in Carentan is good, but meh otherwise.
9) Replacements - only because the Randleman night in the barn, upon rewatches, is not my favorite thing.
8) The Last Patrol with Hanks Jr. and budget version Paul Rudd.
7-1) No particular order.

Blithe is last and a misfire. Someone didn’t properly research Albert Blithe. He was portrayed as a incompetent coward who was killed due to his own actions. In reality , he was wounded , survived , returned to airborne during the Korean War. He won a silver star, three bronze starts and 2 Purple Hearts. He was a career military man who served in West Germany until the late 1960’s. The script at the end of the episode incorrectly states that he died in 1948 after not fully recovering from his wounds.

My order:

1. The Breaking Point - End of the Bulge, Spiers takes over for Dike and handles business
2. Day of Days - D-Day, Easy takes out the artillery
3. Bastogne - Battle of the Bulge
4. Currahee - First episode, sets the tone for the series
5. Points - Last episode, real Winters' words at the very end gets me every time
6. Why We Fight - Discovery of concentration camp
7. Crossroads - Winters goes one man army charging the Germans, Easy heads to Bastogne
8. The Last Patrol - Raid across the river, Winters lays his johnson on the table and fakes the 2nd raid
9. Carentan - Blithe, Battle of Carentan
10. Replacements - New guys come in, Market Garden, Bull gets stranded.

I started a rewatch the other night so the first couple of episodes are still fresh in my mind.
