M/TV's view of "The Saint" (1997 movie, not the series)

Always have liked it and watched it again the other day on Starz. Holds up pretty well and like the substantial use of Moscow locations.
Thin Kilmer does a good job and Shue was her typical slow-burn hot self (was certainly more convincing as a physicist than Denise Russell was two years later).
Not one that would be picking up hardware in awards season, but I think it's a decent flick.
Thoughts?

I don't remember it much. I don't think I disliked it but I used to watch the show on PBS so it didn't have the charm of the tv show.
I've never made the effort to watch it again so I would say it was more meh than anything else for me. Not bad, not memorable.

I remember liking it. Was disappointed that it didn't turn into a franchise.

I hated this movie, but this is mainly due to the fact that I watched the old black and white Saint. Surprised no one has tried to do this again.

I never watched the original, but I liked the movie. Val Kilmer was in the last days of his prime and it was a fun kind of love story plot.
Fun fact: at the end of the movie, when Kilmer gets into his car while escaping police at the science conference, the voice of the newscaster on the car radio is Roger Moore.

Replacing George Sanders and Roger Moore in a role is a tough row to hoe.

Always liked it.
Plus, I’ve had a crush on Shue since KK

This movie was playing on the team bus ride home after a football game played across the state when I was in high school. I remember most people being asleep but I was watching and just falling in love with Elizabeth Shue all over again (originally started in Adventures in Babysitting)
