Marvel Officially Cancels ‘Captain Marvel’ COMIC BOOK RUN After UNRELATED Brie Larson Flop

Clarification - * The 10 issue run of a comic book featuring Captain Marvel has been cancelled. To date, Brie Larson has NOT officially been removed as Captain Marvel *

Marvel has officially canceled Captain Marvel after increasing signs that the Brie Larson franchise is not sustaining audience interest.
Brie Larson was introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Captain Marvel (2019), which essentially acted as a breather between Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019) and allowed her character Carol Danvers to pal around with Nick Fury (a de-aged Samuel L. Jackson) in the 1990s. The film established Larson as the “most powerful” figure in the MCU, which was heavily pushed by the studio brass after the departure of Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man as the central figure of the franchise

Seems the fans did NOT like this one.
Sorry Thor.

Assuming this is true, damn what misfire. I doubt she understood what she was signing up for, but she should have at least tried to be personable. The story did her zero favors, but she was so damn wooden.

oh boy!
is Marvel really waking up?

There were also those rumors about her being mad about her cuts not making it in the Deadpool Wolv movie.
Rumor was Ryan Reynolds made calls and told them not to put her in the extended cut either.
May not be true (Ryan R. part). Marvel knew this was coming so they cut her out.

Ryan isn't above cutting loose any dead weight he thinks may hurt his project.
TJ Miller is a prime example. Although, it could be said TJ cancelled himself, but Ryan saw the writing on the wall for Brie as Captain Marvel and wanted none of it.

Seems like it.
I believe I remember even seeing him make a comment "fans don't want to hear about our politics" something to that affect.
He may be one of the few that gets it.

Boy what a misleading headline/article.
Not great news for the character in general, but it’s intentionally hiding that this is about a comic series that a very niche group cared about in the first place, not the movies.
This is what we call click bait.

Correct. The word 'comic' should have appeared in either the headline or the opening paragraph.
Also, the phrasing of the title indicates that Brie Larson is the focus here, and that SHE has been cancelled (released, fired, asked not to come back, etc... ) which is not the news that's being reported.
The cancelation of this latest Carol Danvers comic book comes alongside the end of the most recent She-Hulk revival, another female-led series whose MCU adaptation was not as commercially successful as Kevin Feige might have liked. Perhaps there is some truth to the idea that “activist producers” are being ejected behind the scenes at the studio.
They got me. And one has to go down the story a bit to decipher the real story that the comic book run was ending.
This isn't exactly breaking news. Which is why the Aug. 11 dateline reeled me in. If this were NEW info, then sure, I'd expect it to be reported as such.
This unfortunately is repurposed from a week ago with Brie Larson's name and image added to earn clicks.

So pointing out the click bait and fake news media and then taking time and effort to acknowledge it and correct the error still gets me DV's?

Crazy of them to assume you would read the article before posting about it.

You get downvotes because you are an idiot

Sounds like she'll be sticking around for the big Avengers films. I doubt we'll ever get another captain Marvel film.

Yeah, it is. Because the headline in the first couple of paragraphs made no mention of the comic book series.

Explain to me how I am the idiot. This was pure Clickbait of a textbook variety. Old news repackaged as something breaking, and then the real story hidden down at the bottom of the article.
Go frick yourself.

Comic book runs get canceled by Marvel all the time... I doubt this has anything to do with MCU's Captain Marvel.
This is like that time you made a thread and were freaking out about a comic story with some robot wearing MJ Watson's skin or some shite... and it never happened.

You’re a weird motherfricker who goes on and on about bullshite. No one gives a French fried frick about a 45-minute long video from a pack of incels about why Star Wars sucks now. We just want to talk about good movies and TV shows.

SEK have u watched the dragon prince series on Netflix? I always wondered what an animated game of thrones could've been and the first season is promising so far. It's 6 seasons not sure if I wanna invest that kind of time though. Haven't seen the show discussed here.
