There's a lot of folks here who likes survival shows and while Naked and Afraid is a fairly scripted show, I still like it because there's enough reality in it to make it worth a watch.
This season they're back in Africa broken into 4 groups of two until they each groups gets a "wrinkle" later in the same day of insertion where one person that is back for redemption is placed in each camp creating an immediately awkwardness as the pairs had all day to bond and start making camp when on outsider shows up.
Another wrinkle is "banishment". This season, a group can have a player removed from the group if they don't want he/she. Last night the "Duct Tape Guy" got his walking papers....Unlike "Survivor", when a player is banished, they don't get kicked out of the game. They can choose to continue surviving on their own or the producers can see if another group will take them...Interesting.
After the episode, they have a replay of the same show with former N&A XL Pairs are chilling at home watching and commenting on the show which I found entertaining.
I liked it.

Duct tape guy was funny.
Bald guy - I'm going to spend hours in the hot sun cutting wood and building a wall for protection from animals.
Policewoman- I'm goimg to spend hours in the hot sun cutting thorns to bolster the wall to protect us from animals.
Duct Tape guy - I'm going to take a 2 day nap and briefly look for birds to not shoot.

The after-show was great. The XL shows are way more annoying than the regular episodes.

Episode 2:
Kate is can't handle the social game. She doesn't understand how to give and take when it comes to getting her way. She thinks everyone one should be on the same page and pace as her and is not willing to give a little to get a little....So she banished herself and is on her own in Africa. She can't last long alone or she will be steered to a new clan.
It will be interesting to see if Seth and Suzänne can last. She bossy as hell and Seth is struggling with dealing with her mouth and the fact she is outworking her. He should listen to her and rest and allow her to pull more weight. She wants to run the show and I say let her for a bit. He's got that alpha-male mentality and can't handle being outdone by a woman.
The other groups seem in good shape for now. When they start merging the teams is when to dynamics will chance.
It's hard to tell with the editing and how much the producers stoke the embers to create tension.
