Netflix's Everything Sucks canceled after 1 season (spoilers)

Surprised this wasn't posted yet.
I just finished Season 1 and it was meh... had huge potential with 90s nostalgia but the characters just weren't relatable.
I felt the main cast was too small so there weren't opportunities to run multiple storylines.
Everything revolved around the junior chick (who looked much older than her character) and the three main guys were a bit too goofy.
Lot of interracial/gay relationships compared to the norm, especially back then. It's ok to have some here or there, but all were literally the main storyline.
Centered too much around the AV club and not enough with normal teenage life.
The nostalgia was greatly forced instead of blending in with the background.
Ultimately I'm not sad it was canceled, but would like the same concept done in like a Wonder Years format set in the 80s & 90s.

Look at half the players on pro sports teams right now....there was obviously PLENTY of interracial relationships going on back then

Not really surprising. They were trying to pack A LOT into one season. I think the writers knew it wasn't going to last.
