Trailer

Anyone else noticed this? It doesn't look like a remake, but it seems every major horror movie just keeps getting added to for a younger generation. Could be decent though, the early/mid 2000s one was creepy as a kid.

I can watch those remakes all day. That series and Halloween. Just loved them as a kid so they never disappoint.

Funny that Halloween & Texas Chainsaw have had multiple reboots in the aughts while Freddy & Jason both went one & done on the reboot.

Friday the 13th has been held up with lawsuits between original screenwriter Victor Miller and original director Sean S. Cunningham over the ownership of Jason. It’s a sticky situation because Jason was created in the original screenplay, however the hockey mask machete wielding killer that everyone knows and loves wasn’t introduced until Part 3. So it’s a complicated situation. As far as Freddy goes, I think it has to do with the fact that replacing Robert England is pretty big shoes to fill, and the remake was such a wet fart that it yanked interest of the series. Also I believe Wes Cravens estate owns the rights now.

Yeah, same. I watch basically every horror movie as background noise when I'm working on my laptop and many are horrible, but I always enjoy any rendition of the classics even if they aren't especially good. I think it has potential. We'll see I guess. I do like the recent Halloween reboot, although the second one (2021) was not in the same league as the 2018, but I'm guessing they're trying to build up for the final.

I also, find the history of the filming and production of the original TCM to be pretty interesting, there are some good youtube videos about it.

The 2003 remake was worth it just to watch Jessica Biel being chased in a skimpy tank top

Lawsuit is over, a new Friday is in development.

The wheel chair guy? I felt so bad in the original when he falls down the hill, and even worse when he gets sawed to shite and can't roll away. brutal.

On the remake I remember being shocked at the crazy lady pulling the gun out of her privates. If she had a gun, why didn't she just shoot leather face?

That’s great news! It’s a shame that franchise has been put on hold for this long. Yea the movies range from silly to downright stupid and are repetitive. But they are fun watches and I think after all this time a Jason movie will be box office bank.
