Show runner is Noah Hawley same guy who created Fargo

Good. The Alien franchise hasn't spent much time on Earth. I'm curious to see where this goes.

Oh man that could be awesome. I hope they don't screw it up by making the "young woman" an unrealistic girl boss.

Interesting that it's a prequel set 3 decades before the original movie

Is it really?

That doesn't make sense to me. That would basically be letting us know the aliens lose or are captured. Makes the show less interesting imo.

Agreed, and exactly. I don't know what the infatuation with prequels is nowadays. It's like every writer/director wants to be the one who "started it all."

Oh, I'm sure they'll throw in some plot twists, but a plot twist is only as good as the ultimate outcome (which we'll already know).

At first glance, I thought we were finally going to get Earth War content. Olyphant will be awesome regardless, but he would've rocked the shite out of that context.

They better have a solid character-driven story drafted up, because it certainly won't have the same amount of potential if its plot-driven.

My advice to them: Make Olyphant the main character, and then get out of the way. Don't overthink this; just give his character a good story and let him do his thing. And ditch the girl-boss bullshite, because it will actually be a breath of fresh air to have an Aliens story with a primary male protagonist.

This would be awesome. I really hope this isn't a prequel and that rumor is nonsense.

FWIW - they were in production in Thailand at the same time we were on the WLS3 …. And I’m pretty sure they were in the jungles and islands a bit in addition to the extensive stage work in Bangkok

It can only make sense if that is how the Weiyland corporation became aware of the xenomorph. In Alien, the android seemed to know rather quickly what the creature was and that may be what this sequel leads up to.

I hope they don't screw this up. The Alien franchise could use some wins here. Romulus seems to be a win and another hit would be just want the franchise needs.

Fargo the movie or the TV series?

Is the TV series worth a watch?

Sorry Charlie. That ain't gonna happen.

The majority of TV shows and movies will have leads that are either "strong" females or people of color. The days of having a strong white male as the lead are over, unless he turns out to be gay. Even that would be fine, as long as they don't make his sexuality the main focus of the show.

I'm cool with a female lead, as long as she's not a girl boss bitch. Ripley and Sarah Connor were strong female lead characters. Neither were girl boss types.
