New CBS sitcom: Poppa’s House (Damon Wayans)

Anybody watching this? This week was the second episode (pilot was last week). It has Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans, Jr. in it. It’s a dumb/silly network sitcom type of show, but weirdly I like it so far, mostly because I love DW and DWJ. They basically play fictionalized versions of themselves.

The worst part by far is Essence Atkins and her talking out of half her mouth. There’s just something so off about her, it’s distracting to me.

DW is an old school radio DJ who’s sort of past his prime, and corporate forces him to add a new lady to his radio show (Atkins). DWJ is his son and neighbor and hijinx ensue. Like I said, it’s sort of silly and the humor is “networky,” but DW and DWJ goofing off with each other is entertaining to me.

Just curious if anybody else has seen it or what you think about it. I had no idea it was even a thing until I randomly saw it flipping through the cable guide over the weekend. It comes on CBS on Mondays at 7:30.
