i'm tempted to give this a shot, but why do they have John Boyega narrating? it makes me think they're gonna present this through a Woke lens which would annoy me.

It’s not just his narration
They have commentary from those that were there
One episode in, it’s well done so far

Yeah, it’s not bad. They didn’t mention that the Soviet Union also invaded Poland shortly after the Germans did (at least not to the point that I’m at). That sort of annoyed me.

This is another one I’ll have to put on the watch list because I still haven’t gotten around to watching the 1973 World at War documentary. Can someone tell me how many episodes they’ll have?

Solid so far. It’s like a mix of World at War (with the interview footage) and World War II in Color - both excellent documentaries.

There is some footage I’ve never seen personally (and I’ve watched so many of these), and the colorizing has come a long way… amazing really.

Looks good so far. What’s crazy to me is that JUST 80 years ago, you had three countries that wanted to conquer the world. Seems so barbaric now.

I think it is 7 episodes.

I watched the first episode and really enjoyed it. The color footage is very engaging and a lot of it is really clear. Like another poster mentioned, much of the footage seems new to me even though I have watched many docs before on WW2.

It is not a comprehensive take like The World at War....but it hits the highlights. And the colorized, restored video makes it well worth the watch. Can't wait to watch some more today.

This is what's wrong with America today. A black person has the audacity to narrate a film and it's immediately woke as frick.

I can't imagine going through life not being able to get excited about anything for fear of the woke.

You're leery of a WWII documentary because a black guy is narrating?

Is the documentary from the English perspective? If not, I could see how Boyega's accent (hopefully not his skin color) is off putting.

I'm ok with an English person narrating anything I watch. It sounds more professional to me.
