saw this last night. i had read the book 'rocket boys' several years ago which it is based on (true story...later renamed to october sky too) and it was a decent movie. i thought it was funny that bullethead from the steve harvey show and the shermanator from the american pie movies were in it

My English teacher took our class to see this for a fieldtrip when I was in 6th grade. I loved it then and still stop to watch it whenever it is on TV.

it was still showing my freshman year of hs. we were out of town on a basketball tournament and went to see it at one of those dinner/movie places but i spent most of the time eating and playing arcade games i just remember recognizing gyllenhaal a couple years later when donnie darko came out and then last night i stumbled across it on some channel. glad i watched it.

i've read the book and seen the movie too. IMHO the book was 10x better, but the movie was still good.

I don't know, ever since Brokeback Mountain I've had these horrible visions of Gyllenhaal playing with rockets....

The most interesting thing about this movie is that October Sky is an anagram for Rocket Boys.
