I think the panic in that little creature after it saw Lylla get killed when it was screaming "Rocket Teefs Floor go NOW!!" Was one of the toughest things I've ever watched in any medium.

i don't know that my wife has gotten over that scene. which is hilarious because she hates steampunk macabre stuff like their depiction but they made them so damn endearing despite that.

Doesn't Rocket get some manner of happily ever after with Lylla in the comics?

There was some discussion about Kang the Conqueror being black, since he's supposed to be a descendant of Reed and Sue Richards. Turns out they never really specify how far of a descendant he is,
Pretty sure the in the comics he’s 1000 years in the future so pretty damn plausible for Reed to be white and Kang to be black or whatever race

So it last night really enjoyed it. Anyone know what the starlord mask wasn't used?

It was essentially a disagreement between Gunn and the Russo brothers. At the end of Vol 2 Star-Lord lost the mask and that was supposed to be the end of it. But as Gunn put it, he "somehow" had it back in IW and Endgame. Someone asked Gunn on Twitter where the mask was and his answer was he left it in his desk drawer because they left Knowhere so abruptly. I'm personally team helmet and wish he had it in the movie, but it is what it is.
Some people have been speculating that Gunn left how Nebula got Bucky's arm in the Holiday Special open ended as sort of a "return the favor" to the executives working on the next films like Thunderbolts and Cap 4.

Yes. That's what I said.

Just got out. I loved it. James Gunn nailed it.

Finally saw it.
Liked it a lot, but was a little darker than the previous 2 and something just felt a bit off in comparison.
But it hit the emotional notes, action was great. Highly enjoyable finale to the trilogy.

Easily the best trilogy Marvel has produced. It helps that Gunn was able to make it basically outside of the actual storyline of infinity war and phase 4. Loved the ending. It definitely was darker, but that was fine. Was shocked that no one died.

I saw it yesterday. I give it a solid B+
Volume 1 is tied with Infinity War as my favorite Marvel movie with an A+
Volume 2 was a B-/C+
And is often the case, I agree 100% with Critical Drinker's review of Volume 3.
It's got a lot of great in it, hampered by some bad editing, ham-fisted cuts, and the refusal to let a sad tone or somber, serious moment last for more than 2 fricking seconds. The scene on the outside of the space colon when Quill thinks he's talking to just Gamorra and bares his soul to her is great writing and acting and in the real world would be hard as frick to have the courage to do. To bare your soul to someone who you loved, knowing that the someone doesn't feel the same way and will most likely reject you. That's tough stuff.
But in a Marvel movie you can't linger on serious adult stuff, so we pull out the old tried and true jokey jokes and make fun of the guy. frick them for that overused crutch.
And dammit, the stuff with the animals was hard to watch and I don't think I'd want my little kid watching that. That's PG-13 or higher stuff and really fricking dark and gruesome. I salute Gunn for going there, but it was a stark contrast in tone from the cast bouncing along a space butt hole dressed like Teletubbies.
It's too all over the place at times.
Don't get me wrong, it's a good movie, but has some big flaws that could have easily been avoided by tighter writing. As Critical Drinker noted, this is the first GotG movie where Gunn has sole writing credit and freedom. I think he could have benefitted from a co-writer to help keep him in check some.
Some of y'all like the Drinker, some don't. Either way, he's right on this.

Took the kids to see it Friday night and we loved it.
Also really appreciated the cameo by The Loathsome Dung Eater

The actor did a fantastic job. To me, I'll picture him when I think of High Evolutionary.
This. That dude was a great bad guy - good actor too.
Enjoyed seeing Nathan Fillian and Michael Rosenbaum in the movie as well.

While he hit a few things on the head, he also has a few inaccuracies, such as what happened to Gamora. Don't understand why what happened is so difficult to remember for people.

I have to say Ant Man Quantumania was not that bad
It was much better than the last Thor
Has to be concerning that Ant Man only made $476 m and GOTG 3 is at $542 m to date
Before that Eternals made $402 m and Shang Chi made $432m
Outside of Spiderman and Dr Strange it seems to be trending downward for the MCU
I have a feeling The Marvels is gonna bomb as it's already been moved from July to November

Without a doubt it's gonna bomb at least somewhat. Watching the trailers before Guardians 3 my GF was excited by the Flash trailer and wanted to go see it, the Marvels trailer came on and she was like, "That's a no".
Maybe they will surprise me and bring in the kiddy crowd, but I doubt it. That trailer had a very CW feel.
