Predator - Everyone begins shooting the jungle scene

I’m watching Predator because screw that stupid contest where it’s not in the finals, and the scene where Blain “the Body” gets hit by the Predator comes on. Mac proceeds to fire at the Predator and then it disappears. At that point, everyone else joins in to demolish the jungle. I’m sitting here thinking this has to be an all-time action scene because you have death, blind rage, and true friendship all taking place at once. Plus, the sound of the mini-gun mowing anything down is just awesome.

The Predator fricked up and got caught in the gunfire, and they had killed him.

The best part of that scene (cinematically) was the minigun out of ammo just whirring away.

I watched Action Jackson last night and I thought how did Carl Weathers and Bill Duke go straight from Predator to this piece of crap.
It did have some nice nude scenes of prime Vanity and Sharon Stone before she was famous. I will give it points for that.

Watched with my oldest this weekend and he was laughing at that scene and thought it was stupid. That kind of horror and fear didn’t exist at that point in time.
I told him that this as filmed before I was born and that kind of thing and scifi wasn’t around back then. You can bet your arse i would be blind firing at everything in that jungle at that point.
His mom did not appreciate Shane Black’s inappropriate jokes and left the room. Fortunately he was the first to die.
Also, it lead into a conversation about John McTiernan. F’ing legend.
My son has really gotten into certain directors and while McTiernan’s credits are short they’re impressive.
I told him that this as filmed before I was born and that kind of thing and scifi wasn’t around back then. You can bet your arse i would be blind firing at everything in that jungle at that point.

This is probably the oldest scifi/horror movie he’s ever seen. The SFX were bad compared to everything else after and anything he’s seen.
I meant that the horror that Dutch and crew experienced of having some unseen force disembowel your mate and decapitate another merited blowing everything in the jungle up.
Him thinking that was dumb and my explanation for the over the top scene was what I was going for.
My apologies late night post after a long day.
