I think the problem with Shemp is that he and Larry were similar. If Curly had replaced Larry instead of Shemp, we may think of Larry like we do Shemp

Larry?

#1?

You know who else thought Larry was the funniest Stooge? This guy .

And that's it. Nobody else. Just you and that guy right there.

Nope, I think Larry was the funniest Stooge also, followed by Shemp, Moe, Curly, and that's it. I don't consider Joe or Curly Joe Stooges.

Moe was the instigator of the violence, so I put him ahead of curly by a hair. On his own, Curly was funnier, but I love me some unprovoked Moe violence.

The rest

somewhere down here.

Can't seem to find them...

Oh here they are.

How can anyone in their right mind put Shemp ahead of Curly?

Going to be real interesting to see if the new movie will be any good. Seems like it will be Dumb and Dumber with 3 people instead of two.

Will also be interesting seeing Penn and Del Toro in slapstick comedy roles.

Shemp ahead of Curly? no way.

The only thing cool about Shemp was his real name. Schmool

I refuse to watch a stooge flick with any Joe.

Who plays Larry now? I don't know how that will work. I can see Del Toro as Moe off the set, but not in the slapstick stuff, and I don't like Carrey as Curly at all, he loves being over the top and I think he may overdo it as Curly

Still don't know why every one is listing the Three Stooges. The thread asked for the The Stooges

Get it together.

I wondered what the hell Penn was doing in this movie. I guess he finally did too.

Damn, I was looking forward to him trying comedy again.

from wikipedia
quote:

A film about the Three Stooges, simply titled The Three Stooges, is scheduled to be released in 2010. The Farrelly Brothers are still attached to the project,[24] even though their Warner Bros. deal to write and direct the film has expired. First Look Studios, working with C3 Entertainment, will distribute the motion picture.[25] The Farrellys have said that they were not going to do a biopic or remake, but instead new Three Stooges episodes set in the present day. The plot of the episodes is said to be an adventure that revolves around the Stooges characters.[26] The film taken to MGM studios will start production in the fall of 2009 to be released in 2010.[27] The studio had previously set Oscar-winner Sean Penn to play Larry, but Penn has since dropped out to spend time with his family. Actors Paul Giamatti, Simon Pegg and Zach Galifianakis are rumored to be replacing Penn, and negotiations are underway with Jim Carrey to play Curly, with the actor already making plans to gain 50 pounds to approximate the physical dimensions of Jerome "Curly" Howard. The studio is zeroing in on another Oscar-winner, Benicio del Toro, to play Moe.[28]

May not be as crappy as I thought, put Zach Galifiniankis as Curly and it might be awesome

sean penn got back together with robin penn and went to rehab

curly requires a physical comedian

moe being played by benicio del toro would suck because his accent is awful

larry david would make a funny Larry

I don't think the accent would be a problem, he could probably learn how to speak like Moe. I know Curly needs a physical comedian, but Carrey would take it too far
