Didn't know that Howell was a candidate for the role before they hired Stoltz. I think he would have clearly been the better choice between he and Stoltz.

Fun Fact: there are so many night shots in Back to the future because Fox had to film Family Ties during the day and could only film Back to the Future dying the day on weekends
