Huh, I wouldn't have expected that judging from the poster

I like Glen Powell, I like Linklater. I will watch this one tonight I think .

Really looking forward to watching this tonight! Powell co wrote it with Linklater, something they did because they both liked the story even though no studio had any interest in it. I think it's loosely based on a true story...I don't believe the real story took place in N'awlins. The trailer looks really good.
I liked Powell in Top Gun a lot. I recently read he went hard after the Rooster role and didn't get it but was offered Hangman. He hated the part (said he was a uninteresting jerk and originally not a very good pilot) and was walking away. Tom Cruise had a sit down with him and asked what kind of career he wanted. Powell said, "I want yours." Tom basically told him you get his career by getting a role in a good movie and making your character good, not the other way around. And with that I got my favorite new character in the Top Gun world.
We watched his recent movie with Sydney Sweeney and enjoyed it, too (1000+ audience reviews have it at 87% so others must agree). This weekend I'll probably watch the Blue Angels doc that just came out...just found out he co-produced that, too. He might be one of the next real big actors if he's already starring in hit movies, writing on hit movies, and producing good stuff.

How about we get an actual good Hitman movie based on the video game

I have about 20 minutes left, shite is starting to hit the fan for this guy. He just confronted her in her house with his coworkers listening and him telling her what to say on the Notes app. This movie is a blast, and Glenn Powell is a star. This dude could have chemistry with a mop.

He stood out in Linklater's Everybody Wants Some. Other than Superman and Wyatt Russell, no one else did.

Arjona is a smokeshow. Will watch just for her.

I think I set my expectations too high with this movie. It was good but not what I expected. Glen Powell was very good, Adria Arjone is beautiful. Dwight from the Walking Dead was good also. Overall a fun film.

That was a great watch. Unpredictable and entertaining.
And THAT’S how you make a film in New Orleans. They didn’t keep hitting you over the head with it.
