Rocky Balboa: Greatest Series Character of all Time?

No doubt. Watching Creed on Paramount right now. All 8 films are extremely well done. It’s impossible to not get sucked in and give a shite about Rocky.
I know Rocky 5 & 6 are weak compare to others, but still enjoyable because of Stallone. He might be America’s favorite character of all time. He represents the American Dream to everyone.

Na, not much interest in boxing tho. Here’s a list of better series characters with that in consideration:
Kenny powers
Kramer
Fonzie
House

Not one of them carried a move series. I agree Kenny Powers and Kramer are great TV series characters. I probably should have added that in title.
By the way Dwight Shrute should be in your list.

You are right none of them did a movies series, but that wasn’t specified. Dwight is acceptable.

Rocky is in the discussion.
I might go Frasier Crane if we add in TV, but I do think that's a tad unfair.

Tommy Morrison would like a word.

6 was a good movie and captured the spirit of the series. 5 did neither.

Didn't want to make a separate thread but just watched Rambo: Last Blood and enjoyed it. Jesus for a guy who is over 70 he kills it the way he looks.
Also, I thought Bullet To The Head was fun.

Rocky Balboa: Greatest Series Character of all Time
No...but greatest antagonists of all time.
Apollo, Clubber, Drago.
you’re gonna need some 20 film franchise like Bond or Marvel to beat those 3.

It's Dirty Harry and it isn't even close.

I uhh. I can’t think of a better substitute. It doesn’t seem so cut and dry until I try and find an alternative.
James Bond maybe. Obviously without the America part

I’ve made a similar argument here before.
Batman/Bruce Wayne is the only one I can think of to rival him.
It’s about as epic of an arc as there is in film history.

Drago
He was a pretty shite character.
There was no substance to him other than he was a big robot.
Hell Rocky 4 didn't have much substance to it with 25 percent of the movie taken up by a driving montage and TWO training montages.
Still better than 5, but its "greatness" in the Rocky lexicon is hella overrated.

Horse puckey.
2 had all kinds of substance and character arc with Rocky, and it was boring. Give me 4 with the GOAT music montages.

Unfortunately, the prequels exist. Same thing that gets Han Solo with the "Skywalker"

And yet again a Ford character "Nukes the Fridge" so to speak.

Only the first two are any good. The rest are crap.
Was it Rocky Balboa that had a 70 year old Rock going the distance with the "current" champ? Give me a break. Pure trash.
