Been almost 40 years! Watching on Prime and still a great movie. Classic 80s movie.

Odd to think about, but Michael Douglas was 40 years old and this was his first major film role.
Before that he was mainly known as a producer.
(He does have a small role in the Michael Crichton film Coma from 1978.)

It is. But speaking of holding up well, Danny Devito has held up very well—much better than Douglas and Turner. He must have been 20 on Taxi and has just looked 40-50 for 45 years. Much like Chris Lloyd, speaking of Taxi. They both had to have been much younger than they looked.

I remember going to see this at the movie theater not expecting anything from it. I knew nothing about it.
It was a huge “surprise” hit. I saw it two more times in the theater after that.
Everyone was taken aback by this movie, expecting garbage but getting solid gold!

It's the Die Hard of Action/Adventure Rom-Coms...and nothing that has followed is up to its standard except The Princess Bride.

It really is good little movie. Tons of action and a hateful villain

I love when the crocodile eats his arm off and Michael Douglas jumps in after him to get the stone. Next scene is him with croc skin boots. That movie is a classic.
"Pepe" the little mule was fun.

Joan Wilder: Can we get there in your car?
Juan: Who told you I had a car?
Joan Wilder: The men in the village.
Juan: They told you I had a car? They are such comedians. They meant my little mule: Pepe
Love it how Juan is giving them a tour guide of the valley. "See that tree...my grandfather planted that tree"

Steve Martin is another person like that. He must have gone grey in his 20's.

Great movie! Don’t forget Kymberly Herrin, March 1981 Playboy Playmate, in the prologue of the movie. She was smoking hot.

Love this movie. Absolutely hilarious scenes. My favorite being the Little Mule car chase. fricking gets me every time. And yea. Devito killed all of his scenes.
The Jewel KD the Nile wasn’t bad either.
Turner exploded, literally, as she aged. But damn. She was deliciously curvy in those films.

I actually rewatched this for the first time in a long time, years and years, a few months ago.
I swore up and down to my wife that it still held up and was genuinely charming and funny.
We both thought it stunk. Its weird how that happens, I had watched it and enjoyed it plenty of times when I was a kid.

Devito’s scenes in the police station talking on the phone are outstanding.
It’s already been mentioned, but I can’t think of a more underrated actor/comedian/director than Devito. He has transcended time with being on Its Always Sunny. He’s one of my favorite actors.

I was never that impressed with it. I saw it as a knock-off of Indiana Jones, which was a knock-off of so many prior franchises.
Kathleen Turner was sexy as hell though.

No need to post any current pics of KT. As a favor, please, just don't.
