Ditto.

Take Tombstone

Add some space ships and aliens

Make a shite zillion dollars.

Rinse. Repeat.

You really have to try to frick it up. And they did in glorious fashion.

There was a time when this might have felt exciting.

Totes. At this point I really don't even want to hear aboutba Star Wars movie unless they are releasing a trailer.

Seems like a good premise. Have they figured out what Star Wars fans want yet?

I see them more in the T-wing class of fighter, but the term cockpit will never be more appropriate.

I liked it the first time when it was supposed to be Rogue Squadron.

Then they fricked it up and attached Patty Jenkins to it.

The movie will be a standalone and feature new characters.

Wait. Not everyone is associated with a slave family turned-moisture farmers on a backwater planet in the Outer Rim?

Is that allowed?

They even have canon source material they can use. Lost Stars, a newer canon novel, is a very good read. Gives a very different side and view of the Empire, moreso from the lower ranks within and how they view what's going on, as well as some worldbuilding in the outer rim in parallel with events from the original trilogy. It follows two friends and pilots that enroll in the Imperial Academy to become Tie fighter pilots. One defects and is recruited by Wedge to join the rebels, and the other rises through the ranks on a Star Destroyer. There is a romance element to it, while not overdone nor the primary focus.

It’s baffling to me how they could be so dumb about this. Current media all takes place about 5-10 years after ROTJ. People seem to like it ok. I thought Ahsoka was cool. Mando season 3 was trash, but that could be reversed. Anyway, people still watch and like it.

Why would set a movie in the sequel trilogy time period and remind people that happened?

I honestly think that Mando & Grogu will massively underperform at the box office. Ryan Gosling is awesome. But The Fall Guy proves he alone can’t pull people into the theater. And now that the best Star Wars seems to be streaming content, why would I go to the theater?

Since we already have Gosling, I say we drop the starfighting, add Russell Crowe, and make this The Nice Guys 2 set in the Star Wars universe. You don’t even have to acknowledge the transition.

Yes, they want all NEW characters and things that make timelines irrelevant.
Multiverse please! More diversity! And make us watch 2 crappy tv show seasons to understand what's happening. And please, can we get a themed hotel that cost $5,000 for 2 nights? Please?

It's still amazing to me that they put all that money into that hotel, and when they couldn't sell it at an outrageous price point they just scrapped the whole thing.

Surely there was a profitable in-between SOMEWHERE in there.
