how about the family friend admitting he was 19 and the wife was 14 when they started dating...but it's okay bc he didn't know she was 14 at the time

It's very much a cult. Similar in structure, indoctrination, and enforcement to Scientology and, to a lesser extent, Christian Science. Interesting to say the least.
I went with a friend to a Christian Science High School reunion at their Boarding School and Principia University Campus in Illinois. It was a fascinating experience. The group I was with were the rebels, and the word cult came up a lot.

I remember their show on TLC and it just felt weird/off. I was really out off at the parentification of the kids as they’d keep churning them out. Really sad honestly.
I mean there’s a reason they homeschool all of those kids. To keep them ignorant to their rights and to keep CPS from showing up.
Most of those families also end up on welfare and they just keep churning out kids.
