God damn what a performance from Christof Waltz. I hadn't seen it in a few years and it's still very enjoyable. She is not a big fan of the gore but she was very compelled by the story and couldn't quite look away. Hans Landa is one of the best movie characters ever.

I fell asleep in the theater during it.
But it was 11pm after an 8 hour drive.

If you're not as tight as a crabs arse in the first 20 minutes, then you have no soul.

As much as I dislike QT movies for the most part, he is the master of creating tension with simple conversations between characters.
Pulp Fiction - diner holdup
True Romance - walken/hopper scene
Django Unchained - DiCaprio dinner scene
Inglorious Bastards - opening scene and bar scene
Reservoir Dogs - almost entire movie

Yet you provide so many examples of quality. What’s the turn-off?

Inglorious Bastards - opening scene
I'm drawing a blank here, is the opening scene where they are searching the farmhouse with the family hiding under the floorboards?

Partially because of the unnecessary violence and the over the top racial crap that seems to pop up in every movie. Just seems like he can’t help himself.
He’s a good story teller and I like the chances he takes. Just that other crap is more distracting to me.
Dislike I guess is a strong word. I just never get excited when a new Tarantino movie comes out. I will see Once Upon a Time in Hollywood eventually mainly because I’m very interested to see how the Manson murders play out on screen.

The end scene specifically the defiant response from Aldo Raine to Landa. fricking makes me chuckle nearly every damn time I watch it. Its so simple and perfect to encapsulate america.
the opening scene is great as well, followed by the basement bar scene.
quote:
Col. Hans Landa: Are you mad? What have you done? I made a deal with your general for that man's life!
Lt. Aldo Raine: Yeah, they made that deal, but they don't give a frick about him. They need you.
Col. Hans Landa: You'll be shot for this!
Lt. Aldo Raine: Nah, I don't think so. More like chewed out. I've been chewed out before.

Some really good acting in this scene, might be my favorite in the whole movie
That bar scene was incredible. So tense.
