Looks like it's got potential. I'll definitely check it out when it releases.

Kinda wish they hadn't shown Hailee or one of the twins as a vampire

She looks hot as frick. Of course they’re going to promote her for the movie

Which they could have done without showing her as a vampire.

The working title for this was Grilled Cheese. I was curious what the final name would be.

Honestly expected a FDtD-ish name. Like a sequel, reboot or other connected work.

I saw an interview with Coogler who said the influences in this movie are Robert Rodriguez, the Coens, John Carpenter, and Salem's Lot. So that's definitely intentional.

“The film is very genre fluid,” Coogler said. “It switches in and out of a lot of different genres. Yes vampires are an element, but it’s not the only supernatural element in the movie. The film is about more than just that.”

The filmmaker dropped hints about certain archetypes that populate the movie, the musician channeling magic and the mystical qualities of twins, among them. He also said the movie was “about American music” and an exploration of blues music and culture.

I had not previously heard of this movie when the trailer popped up as an ad on YouTube last night and caught my interest. For the first minute or so I thought it was some sort of biopic loosely based on the story of Robert Johnson selling his soul to the devil.

When I saw the guitar player and the fire above him, my brain immediately went there. IMDB doesn't give info on the actors characters, but I would be surprised if that isn't him.
