So I am rewatching The Wonder Years, and I completely forgot how much...

...of an a-hole Kevin Arnold is. I mean, every single episode dude is getting irrationally pissed at Paul, or Winnie, or someone else.
And I get that he's a kid, so for example, when he gets pissed at his parents or his brother, that makes sense. But dude is pretty fricking selfish. I mean, he actually has the balls to get legit pissed at Paul for having a bar mitzvah. Jesus (no pun intended), Kevin. It's a pretty big deal for Paul, and isn't his fault that it falls on Kevin's birthday. And then, he goes anyway and ends up trying to hog Paul's attention.
Dude is constantly getting pissed at Winnie Cooper for random shite as well. Hey, Kevin, maybe she doesn't like you sometimes because you're a total dick. Ever thought about that?
Obviously some of this is in jest, and rewatching the show now...I forgot just how awesome it was. I'm only about halfway through season three. But just about every single episode resonates perfectly with some memory from my childhood. I think my favorite one so far is S3:E1 - Summer Song, when they went to Ocean City and he meets that older chick, Teri. Most guys have that memory of being around that age and meeting the love of your life on vacation and then being devastated when it's time to go home.
Also, fun fact: Wikipedia just told me that the girl who played Teri in the episode I just mentioned...she grew up and made porn (Holly Sampson). And also was apparently one of the sloots that Tiger Woods banged on his bachelor party.

It's a tv show. blame the writers, not Kevin.

I'm sure there may be, but I am also sure that I cannot search for that at work.

He had Wayne as an older brother. Cut him some slack. Also, Winnie was a crappy girlfriend. Remember when he dropped serious coin to get her a necklace or something for Christmas, and she got him a freaking BREAD album??
He was kind of a dick to Paul though.

Not there yet. Although so far, they've never really been "together."

Love Wayne so much. He is such an a-hole and dickish older brother. I really liked the episode where Wayne starts driving and then gets in the accident and immediately is all worried about Kevin.
Also, I forgot how awesome Jack is. He's such a hardass most of the time, but then every now and then shows compassion and true love. Great character, and always reminded me of one of my uncles.

Paul deserved better than Kevin for sure.
Kevin was a brat.

You knew that some random chick on TWY grew up to be a porn star? I mean, I like to think I am relatively versed in porn star knowledge, but I never knew that until yesterday.

Fasho.
I love how pissed Kevin gets when Paul has the fricking nerve to want to hang out with other kids in their class. Kevin can hang with Doug Porter when he's pissed, but let Paul ride bikes with Brady Ryland, and shite hits the fricking fan. And all because Kevin tried to lowball Paul for his Willie McCovey baseball card.

Hes a whiny kid that turns into a less whiny young adult.. I dont mind the selfishness portrayed because its a show about his life and we are all selfish to a degree if you look at yourself from a distance.
I mirrored Kevin in age and was amazed how the stories correlated so well to my life. I wish he wouldve realized sooner that Winnie didnt hold the same affection as he did for her. She constantly used him as her fall back and thankfully rewarded him with a barn bone session for all the years he put in..
The episode "Homecoming" is such a fantastic episode that bridged the gap between Waynes youth and adulthood..

Wayne became a lot more sympathetic as the show went on. That episode was a turning point in his character development. Fortunately the writers kept him delightfully obnoxious.. the wedding episode where the father of the bride was the principal from the Breakfast Club was a good one. "I'm Wayne...pass the A1"
