the science is incredibly simplistic and tedious (what would happen if we used more of our brains?) and aimed to simply create a superhero revenge movie. Some kind of illicit drug that gets entered into her system from someone kicking her in the stomach. Salt was much better but not that good either.

One of the worst films I've ever seen

We already use all of our brains. The entire idea comes from faulty science. The conclusion was that just because we didn't understand what much of our brain is used for that it must do nothing. It's pretty silly. The entire idea is easily disproved from an evolutionary biology perspective. The brain uses a huge amount of energy. Most of the body's resources are used in supporting the brain. If a large brain wasn't doing anything to help our survival then it would be nothing more than a huge hindrance and disadvantage towards survival, and large brains would have been selected out of the gene pool by natural selection thousands of years ago.
And as such I can not take the premise of the movie seriously from the start. But seriously I have heard that it's a bad movie otherwise.

I was watching it also. I had liked the concept and had been interested in seeing it, but it's been absurd and awful. So glad I didn't waste money going to see this at the theater. They really swung and missed on this movie.

My review from October 2015.
Wow. I don't even know where to start. Setting aside the rapid evolution, does ANYTHING make sense in this movie?
Was Walter's Crystal Blue a recreational drug or did they know from the start it could be used for rapid evolution? Doesn't seem like they knew or they would have taken better care of it instead of sending half zonked mules to ship it.
Who actually made the crap and what was the whole point of the opening 20 minutes? That whole drug delivery scene made no sense and seemed bizarre just for the sake of the movie.
If it was just a drug that was going to be sold and cut for European kids, then why did the Korean go so batshit bonkers, taking on the cops over such a small batch of the crap?
Couldn't he make more or just buy more? Why did Lucy keep leaving some bad guys alive when she had zero problem killing bad or even innocent people?
If she was so smart and could track everything, why not kill the bad guys? If she was so smart and could do almost anything, why couldn't she just synthesize the drug herself?
The direction was horrible ( silly flashing back and forth with wildlife). The dialog was painful at times.
I liked the core concept, but damn the movie was poorly executed. I seem to recall people saying to stay away but I was bored

Exactly. We use a certain amount of our brain for thinking for sure. We also use a huge amount of brain power to breathe without thinking, to realease hormones and enzymes, to control your heart beat and a thousand other interactions

That sincerely was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. The took a mediocre idea from a Bradley Copper movie and made it worse. That's saying something.

The worst movie I've ever seen. It's worse than The Room.

It's a stupid movie. I can look past the brain science junk. I can look past the ripoff of Limitless. I can look past the nature cutaways. I can't look past the idea that she can bend physics and then turn into a tree thing or whatever that was at the end.

Not very good. I watched it once and never had the desire to sit through it again.
