Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot

This is a true story about a small church in East Texas where 22 families adopted 77 "hard to place" children from a local foster system.
We saw it yesterday and there wasn't a dry eye in the place.
If you want a nice family movie with a feel good story for a change try it.

It was powerful, and with a good score that hits the right notes in the right places. I'm not a terribly sentimental guy, but got misty-eyed myself.
The film certainly has to gloss over much of the prolonged struggle for the sake of making an entertaining movie with a reasonable runtime. But at the same time, this isn't the "family adopts a kid and everyone lives happily ever after" fairy tale we've grown accustomed to. It's a much more realistic glimpse into the realities of this kind of adoption. And even the "perfect, do-gooder" Christian parents struggle to maintain their faith and sanity throughout the movie.
Diaana Babnicova, the young actress who plays one of the adopted girls, turned in a marvelous performance.

Saw this with the wife Friday. Angel Studios is doing an excellent job producing these faith-based movies with quality. This is another strong effort. Very moving movie.
