Which Friday Night Lights storyline was the best and worst out of the 5 seasons?
Posted on 7/6/15 at 12:45 pm to trom83
Anything that happened in Season 2

Do I even need to say?

Matt Saracen. The dynamic with his grandma, Julie, him and Landry, the relationship with his mom and dad. frickin loved Saracen.

Saracen always got the shite end of the stick. He surrounded himself with bad people. It seemed like Coach Taylor was the only one who really cared about him and even he gave up on Matt.

Huh? Maybe I was watching a different show. I buy that he had a rough life, but to say he surrounded himself with people who didn't care about him is a stretch. He really didn't associate or surround himself with his parents, his mom just kind of showed up and we all were witness to the best episode of the series "The Son" that showed the relationship he had with his dad.
But Julie loved him, his grandma loved him, Landry loved him, Mrs. Taylor loved him.

I could have done without him banging the Hispanic home nurse. That storyline felt forced.

Yeah, Saracen's storylines were usually the best.
The worst was by far (spoilers)

The Landry/Tyra murder crapfest. That may have been one of the worst storylines in tv history.

This! Tyra was a complete bitch to Landry.

That was not why it was a shitty storyline.

Landry/Tyra is worst in a landslide, but I don't think Jason's storyline gets the shite it deserves. It was fricking awful and annoying.
Best was Matt's arch.

15 reasons why Julie Taylor is the worst character of all time

Coach and Mrs. Taylor have the single best depiction of marriage in TV history. They are the rock upon which the show is built, and while I hesitate to say they have an arc, as they do stay pretty much the same, the show was at its best when it showed how the two of them reacted to every problem.
The worst, aside from the plotline that shall not be mentioned, was Buddy adopting the Hispanic kid, never to be referred to again by the writers.

The best storyline was Tim Riggins. Just Tim...all Tim all the time.

Riggins evolution as the show evolved was interesting.

She was a pretty terrible person on the show. Poor Matt.

Worst departure was the sudden disappearance of Santiago.

Well at least he was able to get Buddy Garrity's watch back from his cholo friends

Tyra/Landry was a good storyline, except for that season 2 nonsense.

I always thought the story line of Taylor being forced to leave was a joke. Then he took a team that is like southern and had them beating LSU.

Or how Coach Taylor up and up left his coaching job at TMU because Buddy Garrity said that Dillon needed him back.
