I love Stand By Me but The Sandlot is beyond epic for me.
What says the board?
Eta: music in both is fantastic, one of the reasons I love both, and I was born in 89.

Both these movies reminded me of how I grew up. The scene in Sandlot when he fakes out the lifeguard for the kiss is great. I am going Stand by Me and the leeches scene by a narrow margin. Both of those movies and the narration in them make them all time classics IMHO.

Sandlot for me. Stand by me is great, but I grew up watching the sandlot

Stand by Me because I watched it as a kid. I was in high-school when The Sandlot came out. Both are great though.

Its going to depend on when you were born.
I think Sandlot is a timeless classic. It came out when I was 5 and I grew up wearing out that VHS.
Stand By Me came out before I was born and I honestly don't think I've seen it.

Sandlot for me. I love both movies but as a baseball kid Sadlot resonates with me like no other "kids" movie, other than maybe Bad News Bears.

Depends on when you were born. Stand By Me for my generation.

What do you mean...like release date? I guess...though I was 16 when SBM came out, but love Sandlot more because of the subject.
I think SBM is a better movie, but I'll never turn off Sandlot if I see it on.
Both movies take place around about the same time in America. Stand by Me tales place n 1959 and Sandlot is 1962.

Absolutely. Stand By Me was released in 1986. The Sandlot 1993.
I've seen Stand By Me but barely remember it. I could quote the entire Sandlot movie. I was born in 1984.

Both are great movies for very different reasons. I prefer Stand By Me, and I'm very much in The Sandlot generation.
I probably prefer SBM more though because The Body is such a great short story.

Stand by Me is pretty dark. I'm not sure it's that comparable to the Sandlot.

I love both of these but I think you have to include The Goonies to be fair, and I would chose that over both.
Between the two, Sandlot bc I was born in 83 so sandlot hit when I was 10 years old which resonated with me.

The Sandlot for me.
But this is a great movie comparison even though they're completely different genres. Stand By Me is a classic, but if you were born in the early/mid 80's and played even a little bit of baseball -- The Sandlot grew on you.

Never seen Sandlot. I was in college when it came out and it seemed like a kids movie.
So Stand By Me.
So Stand By Me.

I think this depends entirely on when you were born
if you were born between 1965 - 1980, it's likely Stand By Me
1981 - 1995, then it's likely Sandlot

I read Different Seasons about 10 times when I was a teenager
For those that don't know, it also contained the short story "Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption"
