SG1 and Atlantis were great and I have watched them all the way through a couple of times, we will forget Universe existed.

Movie was good. Could've been better but it was good. Good idea for a movie if you're into Graham Hancock and that sort of thing.

Yeah, I'm always skeptical of a remake or "reboot" of a modern film, especially one that was good. But I imagine the Ancient Aliens cottage industry makes the timing right.
The original had pretty great visuals that hold up, IMO, so I wonder if they'll turn it into a CGIgasm.

I didn't hate it, but Stargate is about exploring new places and encountering new races, they tried to go for the gritty drama like BSG and it just wasn't there imo. But they did have these.

Universe was terrible.
Not even debatable. 3 lifeforms in 2 seasons.
Rapestones.
Don't get me started.
Crew rebellion...solved...new crew rebellion.
Yawn.
2 seasons and they didn't even fully explore the ship.
The cast was so boring I don't think I ever learned their names.
Big Tits soldier was the high point.. Permasmirk soldier sucked with his Michelle Rodriguez acting style.

I wanted it to be good, but it killed the franchise. No more direct to DVD movies. No more good stories. I never even saw all the Universe episodes. The first season sucked and I gave up .

I will admit that at the very end, I was interested in them wrapping up with a mini-series or dvd. I did actually want to see the resolution to the finale.
However, F SGU! As you said, they killed off the DVD movies. I really wanted those Atlantis movies.

Years ago I think you introduced me to Alantis. We were discussing SGU and I said I never really gave Atlantis a shot and you were talking it up so I binged it. That had to be six years ago.
