Yeah, I about burnt the VCR up from rewatching Swiss Family Robinson so many times as a kid. Great show.

Not excusing his behavior because there is no excuse, but being a child actor has F'd a lot of kids.

Also, forgot to correct this yesterday:
quote:

Fritz and Ernest

It's Ernst. Not Ernest.

And I had no idea about the gay/underage sex stuff. Guess I've never read his Wikipedia page until today.

I vividly remember the scene where the pirates were climbing the hill and they dropped the logs on them.

From the way the actors were moving, when that happened.

They looked like real logs.
Some of those actors looked like they were in legit pain.

i mean, even if they were made out of foam, they had to have at least enough weight and density to them to roll somewhat realistically and were still rolling down a hill at a decent pace. It probably didn't feel that great

Yeah, but:

Walt Disney personally fired Kirk,[43] but when Merlin Jones became an unexpected hit, Disney allowed him to return long enough to film a sequel, The Monkey's Uncle

Gotta get that dollar though.

The salt in his wound was that he grew up to resemble Kevin Spacey.

That kind of shocked me. I guess Walt had morals but when it came to dollars, those morals could be bent a little.

And the churches and the schools, etc. Like today it was everywhere, people just didn't report it out of misplaced shame and embarrassment. I was watching Gene Roddenberry's Pretty Maids All in a Row (1971), and the Rock Hudson teacher character gets caught by a cop doing one of his high school students in his car, and the cop all but high-fives him for bagging a hot young girl. People had a warped view of right and wrong when it came to teens back then. And wherever you have anyone with power over young people, you're going to see those that see it as a opportunity to abuse.
