Spoilers ***
Just watched: saw a stream on GoMovies..
first, Sebastian Stan kinda sucked,. the cadence of his voice was nothing like Trump and didn’t have any of the charisma of Trump.
The portrayal of the movie is odd because if portrays his dad in a pretty bad light and Donald almost sympathetic early on and like Roy Cohn was a mastermind behind Trump. Then it flips and Donald basically leaves Roy behind and Roy’s almost the sympathetic gay guy w aids who Donald’s no longer deals with.
One thing that really bothered me is a scene of Trump being pressured into drinking, when he’s notoriously never drank because of his brothers drinking problem. They also throw in some really some left wing nuggets like his hair is fake, weight loss pills and surgeries… etc
Also they really butchered a lot of the timeline.
The movie had a lot of good but felt like instead of focusing on making the best movie possible, they wanted to get into some dumb lib conspiracies so ppl didn’t find Trump in a positive light. Just felt like they didn’t really capture the real story of Trump in that early era, just more of some fabled idea of him and Roy Cohns relationship.

I've heard that Stan is good in this role but that Jeremy Strong steals it as Roy Cohen and could get a supporting nomination.

Strong deserves awards… I thought Stan was ok… but didn’t really mail the cadence of the way Trump speaks and didn’t have any charisma like Trump.

We already know Hollywoods vapid take on Trump (not saying any criticism of Trump is vapid, but coming from Hollywood it’s almost a guarantee) so I don’t see the purpose. You could have a good nuanced story there where they portray Trump in a negative light. But we all know that’s not going to be the case.

Is a hit piece that makes no sense. Like most Hollywood productions recently, the chronology and facts are wrong, everything is out of place, it’s full of projection and it’s all meant to tie current narratives to factual origin. It’s as if some idiot hairpiece on cable news had a fever dream about young Trump.

Yah they got a lot of the timeline wrong. They add dumb conspiracies.. but what’s annoying is there’s something there that could’ve made a great movie.

It could’ve at least been interesting but if you listen to the guy who made it in interviews, he’s a completely unhinged nut job,
