The Batman 2 Villain Rumors: It's gonna be Clayface...

if true, i doubt he'll be portrayed as the big blob on clay that we've seen in TAS and the HBO Harley Quinn series.
ScreenRant brought up the idea of using the Basil Karlo storyline. I had to look it up:

https://screenrant.com/clayface-the-batman-2-villain-origin-powers/
with the grounded style of the first movie, Clayface could be a "master of disguise" that wears different masks and committing different crimes. this will also further push the detective style of Batman we saw in the first movie.

Basil Karlo, the original Clayface, was an actor who was driven mad when he heard of a re-make of the classic horror film he had starred in, The Terror. Adopting the persona of the film's villain "Clayface", he became a serial killer targeting the cast and crew. He was eventually stopped by Batman and Robin.

I thought Mr. Freeze would’ve been a good narrative choice with all the flooding at the end.
Clayface is meh for me

the only thing about Freeze is the "supernatural" aspect of him. how can you bring him down to a believable level? i get it's a comic book movie, but i can't picture him in style of universe.
the Batman and Robin movie actually made sense in that universe regardless of how bad that movie is.

Maybe Hollywood will get the point that not everything needs to be remade.

I had heard it was gonna be The Court Of Owls.
BTW- this is one of the best covers of all time.

Always wanted poison Ivy to be an eco terrorist. Supervillain vegan in a Subaru is believable enough for me haha

I know nothing about that original Clayface but think it would be cool if he wore the face of his victims, maybe left the face at the scene of his crimes, etc etc.

I doubt he'll be the main villain. Likely supporting, like the Penguin

Better than the joker or scarecrow again

I think they are making Penguin into an antihero.

It's gonna be fascinating to see how they bring such an outlandishly powerful and physically bizarre villain down to earth. They didn't have a hard task with Riddler, and Joker is just a guy with a scarred face these days, but Clayface is easily one of Batman's most super-powered rogues.

I’ve wanted Clayface in live action for years so this is exciting if true. That said, I’ll be very curious to see how they translate that from comics to screen, particularly in this world Reeves has set up. If he’s not the hardest of Batman’s rogues gallery to adapt, he’s certainly on the shortlist.

If they're going to do Clayface then they may as well just embrace the weirdness. He pulled off Planet of the Apes, he can make this work as well.

nope, he was in the prison scene with the Riddler

I never said he was a focal point
and the scene was 2 minutes, not 30 seconds

Let Reeves do the lame golden age clayface and let Mike Flanagan do the monster version of the character he recently pitched to Gunn and the studio at DC

Flanagan has been very vocal in the past about his interest in making a Clayface film, stating in one 2021 tweet that he’d approach it as a “standalone….horror/thriller/tragedy.”
