The Bear S1E7 may be the best television episode of all time

First off this show is exceptional. I just did a search function to see if anyone has discussed this yet, and it yielded no results. If you haven’t watched this brilliant tv series yet, stop what you are doing and start watching it. It’s a treasure that everyone needs to be aware of. It’s an FX series that’s streaming on Hulu.
Quick summary: a James beard award winning chef’s brother commits suicide and leaves his Chicago sandwich shop to him in the will. Chef takes over the restaurant and tries his best to make it profitable and work.
Now to the episode in question. Episode 7 was absolute perfection. It’s one long tracking shot of absolute chaos for 20 something minutes, and as soon as it ends you’re left with anxiety and a feeling of being a part of it all. Also I was stunned it has ended; it felt like it had just started.
I’m keeping this spoiler free, because nobody wants it ruined. You need ti just watch this series from the beginning, and buckle up when E7 starts. It truly is one of the best things ever put to screen from a television series.

Was fantastic, especially if you’ve ever worked in the service industry.

Yeah, I'm hesitant to even watch many new things but this series was exceptionally good. In a show with a solid group of characters, I think I'm most intrigued with Richie. The scene in his car when Sydney was told to drive him somewhere and he took that phone call and his personality changed when talking to his daughter...really incredible.
Also, if I gave two shits about Marvel at this point, I'd be looking to cast the lead , Jeremy White, as Wolverine. At 5'6" with a build that could put on some muscle it's a solid fit.

There’s like 7 other threads on this show and every one complains about how the search function doesn’t work. You didn’t do anything wrong, it’s just funny/deja vu in all of them

-Search function didn’t work
-Great show with great characters
-S7 is awesome
-hopefully there’s a next season

I don't use the search function on the site. Just search "the bear tigerdroppings" on google and you'll find what you're looking for.
Eta - the show is great and E7 was crazy and if you've worked in the industry you can remember times it felt like that.

Yes! Wife and I were both talking of how his character is the best and deepest character of the show, and that’s saying something given the depth of all of them. Plus he’s the best actor on their, also saying something given the talent displayed.

Spot on. I never once thought of it, but the moment I read this I immediately thought this is the perfect casting choice. Dude is jacked, and he brings the intensity that Wolverine needs.
Regarding the search function, yeah I figured it was something wrong with TD and that this show had already been discussed. I just pointed that out so everyone knew I was not trying to start yet another thread.

It was fantastic and I agree. I was on the edge of my seat after it. I can’t wait for season 2.
I can’t wait to see my boy who makes the desserts next season.
Honestly it would have been better if the main actor was black or Asian. - SammyTiger or nerd.

It's a good show and that was a great episode, but not even close to the greatest tv episode of all time. That's absurd

Why’s that? Is it not reasonable that anything created today can’t be considered in the conversation of one of the best of all time? Is there a limit as to when something is created in order to be considered? Must it be pre 1980? 1960?? What are the qualifications so that I know in the future not to break the rules?
I’m playing based off of the idea that anything created at any period of time can be a contender of best of all time, and this episode certainly qualifies. It was brilliantly written, acted, directed, edited, etc. It was a clinic in film making that we absolutely would have discussed in my film class back in the late 90s. I hate to break it to y’all, but modern film/tv definitely can qualify as a classic. The thing is that as bad as movies are the last few years, we have seen some of the best television series compared to years past.
But y’all keep on rolling with the idea that nothing new can be great. I’m not sure how well it will work out for you, but you do you boo

Reminded me of when I was a cook and a chef came in and took over and acted like a douche. Very realistic kitchen vibes.

I had never heard of the show until I saw a Thomas Flight YouTube video on one of the episodes. Downloaded it immediately after I watched it.

Good video. He does a nice job of breaking down why this show is great both from a technical aspect as well as story and characters.

Lip was my favorite character from Shameless, glad he’s doing well and running a sandwich shop
