I was very intrigued by the premise, it feels like a horror movie... and got worse as you went into it, They did a very good job of slowly moving goal posts at what the general public would consider overreach today.
Basically imagine if Google and Apple had a baby and combine a head figure of Steve Jobs(played by Tom Hanks) with the market dominance of google with no antitrust or legislation to neuter what is considered acceptable.
By the end they were suggesting your voting profile be incorporated into your social media account and mandatory voting, cameras that can be put anywhere just like an apple tag. They were advocating that knowledge was a public right and we should have access to everything, privacy was not allowed almost.
This movie had so much promise, the way they basically live streamed a group murder was insane, though the ending was just so underwhelming, it just kind of ended abruptly with very little closure.

I enjoyed it. As is often the case, the book was a lot better.
ETA: it definitely gives you a lot to think about

Is this the Emma Watson movie? Her American accent is very bad.

i made my kid watch this and social dilemma before i let him have social media (at 17.)
i've actually been pretty pleased with how he used it afterwards because he just sends me sports memes all day and has been pretty good to not overshare.

Watched last night. I thought it was entertaining enough to enjoy. Really put social media on the platform of personal attention and agendas are more important than overall respect and human dignity which has been what it’s become.
