Just watched this and wow what a movie. It really had me guessing fr beginning to end. And low and behold at the end I realize it's a David Fincher film, I pretty much love everything this guy did.

Love the movie, but I think the ending was poorly done.

I remember an interview with Douglas back when the movie was in the theater and he said it was a very grueling movie for him to make. He was in almost every shot of the entire movie and he had to run the gambit of emotions over and over again with no one else around to help him.

Never thought about how hard it would be to play that role. Douglas did a great job playing it; I shared his anxiety and emotion throughout the movie. One of my favorte movies for sure.

I always say the same thing about this movie: I don't care how implausible the ending is, I still love it.

I thought it was solid movie until the end, it just got weird

Oh and I havent seen many Michael Douglas films, but does he always play a stockbroker/banker type of character in every movie he is in?

It's one of those perfect movies to come on Sunday Afternoon...I've always liked the girl...she was in Payback, The Salton Sea, The Hurricane and Stander...and then she did Silent Hill and it's been downhill since then.

Try Romancing the Stone. He plays a swashbuckler type. Kathleen Turner makes this movie, however.

Spoilers..don't know if I have to do this for a move from 97 but.
My conspiracy theory about the end is he was meant to die in the fall in the original but the screening audiences didnt like it so the wrote in the airbag...atleast I think it would have been better that way and a little more fincherisk.

Very good movie. I was fortunate to see this in theaters. The clown part was creepy. Gave me poltergeist flashbacks.

Aside from the whole plot thing, it was a pretty decent movie.

For future reference, you run the "gamut" of something, not the "gambit."

Thanks for pointing that out. I will remember that next time. I don't mind being corrected in situations like this.

It seems Michael Douglas went about 10 years where he only played some stressed out dude who somebody, or everybody, was fricking with until he just snaps and breaks bad. Basic Instinct, Fatal Attraction, Disclosure, The Game, Falling Down, Perfect Murder, etc.
