most people don't care or even know about this stuff. And the Oscars have been going down in popularity well before any of this DEI crap.

It’s hard to say. Streaming is for sure the bigger hit. But for sure some properties have been doomed by DEI. Rings of Power and Wheel of Time shows off the top of my head.

I watched Princess and the Frog and Mulan with my family on Easter

Made me sad to see what Disney was once capable of. . .

We're they made today:

P&F would be a total race-baiting altar call.

Mulan would likely be gay, and a full on girlboss.

People just don't go to the movies anymore.

Well, with ticket prices and nothing more than popcorn and sodas, a movie for 2 people is now $50 and up. It's no wonder attendance is down in theaters.

I think it will. History repeats itself. We are in a dark cloud right now. Too many Super Hero movies is a big one. People need to stop watching all of them so that we can get a good one every now and again.

That and with them remaking movies from 50+ years ago and most of them falling way short of the originals is not a good formula for putting asses in the seats.

Hollywood goes through phases, and those eventually pass or at least taper off in time.

They've gone through different phases over the years. Loads of big production musicals, westerns, war movies, scream queens, hop and chop and this latest with super hero movies with more CGI than acting.

Personally, I don't care what they do. My heading out to a cinema days are over. I've got better things to spend my disposable income on than a movie that is normally less than 2 hours long.
