A minor criticism was it should have been Tommy with Joel instead of Dina. She was kind of worthless this episode. In the game, Tommy watches Joel get killed. They also beat up on Tommy. Putting Dina to sleep was meh

Now everyone can see why everyone was so mad playing game 2 at the beginning. Then the game only got worse.

Well I give the show this that scene was much better done on TV than the game. Only goes downhill from here though sadly. Adios Last of Us we hardly knew ye

Hopefully Joel dying makes Ellie less annoying. Her character has been horrible this season. Like almost close to stop watching horrible.

Loved the episode. Worried about no longer having him lead the series, but I enjoyed the games and hope it plays well on screen

Well that escalated quickly. 
There ALOT to unpack in this episode but safe to assume Ellie and Abby won’t be best friends going forward

Yeah. In Season 1 the interconnected Cordyceps replaced spores from the game is my understanding. Actual IRL mushroom networks (mycelium) do similar, they “communicate” where the nutrients are. In the show the humans are the nutrients.

I was thinking the same thing.
I have never played the game and the reason I was watching was because of Joel. Abby or Ellie carrying the show is not promising at this point.
I am vested or as they say pot committed so I guess I will see through to the river but feel like I am just chasing a gut shot straight at this point. Hope I am wrong.

Can’t believe they killed Joel off so quickly. I mean I knew it was coming but figured they’d leave it for the season 2 finale and drag this out. Nope. This series definitely has an end date planned already.

Lost me as a viewer. If you're going to make the most likeable rootable character die in your series, even if that's what the video game does, then you don't deserve my view. This will hurt them financially because it will cause massive viewership drop. Which they deserve. Max and Last of Us director will learn this financial lesson the hard way.
