Woah.. this was a very F'd up story that I had never heard about. The parent's of these kids should be thrown in Prison. I still have episode 3 to watch but it's a very interesting documentary.
It's crazy that Ivy Ridge left their files all over the place like that because most programs meticulously guard/destroy those.

Just saw the trailer, will be watching! I'm guessing all the parents were complicit in this... Looks interesting to say the least!

I spent every summer , the first 18 years of my life, 4or 5 miles up that same road along the St Lawrence. Absolutely rural and bucolic a nd endless fishing with Canada right across the river. It was weird to see these people traumatized in the same place I had so much joy.
Also I went to a strict boarding school that did it correctly for two years and was contrasting a true learning environment with the absolute horror and cult like immersion they endured. There are really evil people out there, and if they can craft a little narrative and get you to give them control, this is what happens . My sympathies to anybody who endured abuse like that.

Reminds me of the state of this country right now. Brainwashed people.

Came here expecting a discussion on one of the greatest college football movies ever made, and now...

I watched this last week and I had the same reaction. Absolutely inexcusable excesses taken by the staff at that school, which was barely even a school in reality. The head guy was barely literate for crying out loud.
that said, i think a documentary like that would be better served by contrasting the relentless diatribes about childhood trauma from these same five or six girls with some interviews from some of the staff or parents to reveal their intentions and motivations. also maybe some of the students who went through the program and werent left scarred for life.
i have no doubt that that school was an absolute nightmare to go through, but the flipside of that is that there is no doubt in my mind that some of those kids were an absolute nightmare to deal with. at some point, what is a parent supposed to do? i am friends with some people who have a son that is about 11 or 12 and this kid is already showing signs that he might be a full-blown sociopath and a danger to their other kids and possibly even to them. when parents are at their absolute wits end, they are faced with pretty bleak options.
i guess i'm just a little more sympathetic to the parents in this show than the filmmakers clearly intended us to be. i certainly dont agree that we should "throw the parents in prison".

i agree, which is why i have some sympathy for the parents in this case, who were, in their own way, victims of the school just like the kids were. i think the documentary hinted at that a little, but i think they way over-villainized the parents. specifically the main chick.

I watched it a couple weeks ago. Those parents should all be arrested, But I get some of their desperation to get their kids from falling off of a cliff.
I don't blame the main girl for the way she acted towards her dad. He never should have let the step mother talk him into sending her away.

I also expected the football movie, but what is the OP about? Any other information besides the title? Google shows me some cult thing from like 2016, some movie about Lance Armstrong starring Ben Foster, the football movie, etc.
