Watched this last night and today. I really enjoyed it.

It is about a new CIA lawyer who gets caught up in a situation much bigger than him.

There is some comedy along the way. It is not as heavy as most spy thrillers.

The setup for a potential second season in the last episode is intriguing.

What's with all these new shows about the CIA and FBI? Almost like they are trying to rehab their public image. Almost.

this show doesn't make the CIA look good at all. . .just bureaucratic and back-stabby, but dangerous and mysterious

The show depicts the Agency about the way I have always thought of them, shady and corrupt

2nd episode starts with a REALISTIC fight between a male operative and a female operative.

She is trying her best, but the guy is just woodshedding her like she is nothing.

But she is able to get to his gun, and that is how she lives.

really liking this.

I know you haven't seen the show but if you had one would have to wonder if your mom had any children that lived. The show is the exact polar opposite of presenting a favorable impression of the CIA or the power structure in DC. Without spoilers, I can't think of a single part of the plot that is favorable to the CIA it is pretty much an indictment of them instead.

I have not seen the show. Never claimed to. You even acknowledge that. So it would appear your mother raised a cocksucker.

Season 1 is mostly his child molesting globohomo training days. The finale is him raping and murdering a 12 year old just to prove to the bosses that he's real spook material.

the substance is higly unrealistic. Thats a lock.

This show rules.

Nothing woke about it.

Chick agent gets her arse beat by a dude, until she stumbles on a gun, or throws salt in their eyes to win.

None of that "women are men" "patriarchy is a lie" bullshite.

I’m liking it, mainly because of the lead and the imprisoned gal; they’re both incredible

I’m trying to suspend disbelief as it is just a silly action show, but them letting this week old new lawyer work through this international mystery that works its way up to the absolute highest levels? I mean, I was actually chuckling at some of the stuff in episode 2 when he was getting into it and the girl on the phone was coaching him through what he needed to do

Will definitely finish it

Accidentally or not, it portrays the CIA for what it really is - a politically motivated organization staffed with self promoting individuals, many incompetent, with a few good people sprinkled in.

Show has a Chuck vibe to it, without the AI aspect.

No, but there IS a peripheral tertiary character who is … one of those icky gays.

The closest that this show gets to being “woke” is a female character who is half Asian (and hot as Hell, btw). Her parents are an inter-racial couple. eeewwww.

As an aside, if you thought that the actress who played Raj’s sister Priya on Big Bang Theory was hot (raises hand), she is an antagonist in this show (though older of course).

It is a fun show. Lighten-up and watch the pilot.

I think I've gotten to the point where I'm reluctant to start a new Netflix series and invest the free time because they cancel or de-fund so many of them in adolescence unless they are a breakout hit (Stranger Things, Etc.).

What's the point of starting something if you know there is a small chance of a payoff or conclusion.
