Watched this for the first time last night. All I gotta say is wtf? What was the purpose of it besides making me feel better about myself? And yes I know it's 10 years old and I'm way late to the Jesco party.

I had a friend come over who had bought it on YouTube for $2.99 and we watched it. As infuriating as it is, they had some solid quotes in there.

Sadly a lot of people live like this in Appalachia/the delta and other poverty ridden areas

In order to understand this film (documentary?), it helps to have seen "Outlaw Dancer" a PBS documentary made in (approx) 1991. It introduced Jessco White, his wife Norma, and his crazy clan. After seeing the PBS show, it was hard to imagine the family sinking much lower on the measuring stick of white trash. However, as I've learned from watching others, when you think a person/family/situation has hit rock bottom, never underestimate the ability of those involved to produce pickaxes and shovels, and for them to continue digging. The Wild & Wonderful Whites is a perfect example of this axiom.

My dad's side of the family is from Prenter, Boone County WV. Hillbilly/whitetrash side skipped myself and my siblings though. I'd be more scared going to Boone County than I would be going to Compton CA. during the Rodney King riots.
