Do yourself a favor and watch it immediately. The Sopranos is my favorite show ever, and I have watched it dozens of times. Gomorrah is a very close second. It is easily one of the most beautifully made and intriguing shows I have ever watched. Seasons One and Two are especially great.

Based on a true story, Gomorrah follows the insurrection in the Savastano clan of the Neapolitan Camorra. Betrayal, (plenty of) murder, with very few romantic story lines, which I find as a positive. The soundtrack is great, and the score by the band Mokadelic, is excellent and haunting. This show is 10/10 and is worth multiple rewatches

Anyone that has seen it, what are your thoughts.??

Is that how it is spelled or is it spelled correctly as 'Comare?'

you're thinking of goomar, like a mistress. This is Gomorrah, like the city in the Bible. its a pun kind of : the show is about the Camorra (Italian criminal organization) and the depravity in Napoli.

Thanks. Yes i though the show was maybe a Anglicized phonetic spelling of comare.

its gommata, but the Americanized northeastern accent makes it sound like gumar. Same with them saying manicotti, as manigot, on the Sopranos. Gommorrah is the name of the book its based off of I believe. The actual organization is the Camorra. Im guessing the title is a play on Gommorah, as in Sadam and Gommorah, due to all the death and sin in the show and the lifestyles portrayed.

Its a great show, but the Naples thing is peanuts in comparison to the Calabrian's and Sicilians.

ETA: the 4th season just got added to HBO Max. I think there may be 5 current seasons already (or they are working on the fifth now/ or it could be they are working on the 6th now).

These days, I feel like any thread about a TV series needs an, "on HBO Max/Netlfix/Prime/HULU, etc." Subject ending.

I guess movies too, but especially a series.

The Napolitan dialect is difficult to master. Even my Sardinian friends that watch the show use subtitles and their dialect is so different than proper Italian. Good show tho!

HBO Max has the English version and its not annoying to watch. The later seasons actually look like they're speaking English on the screen.

Found it on HBO Max, but can't find it on Prime's HBO content
I went through all of the HBO TV series, and it wasn't there. Guess I'll cast it from HBO Max on my phone.

There were only 3 seasons a few months back and they put season 4 up a week or two ago. Its definitely good, and very anti-American type story telling (meaning that there are no good guys, and very few redeeming qualities in characters and if there they quickly get nullified by some act of extreme brutality or treachery.

On HBO Max it looks like its not a true HBO show, rather than a show HBO picked up or something; or that could just be how they do their International series. Either way its definitely good, better than Narcos imo.

It’s more of a Neapolitan thing. Napolitano dialect has a habit of cutting off the vowel at the end of words. Sicilian does this as well.
