Anyone else watching/watched this? Basically it's 10 slutty people stuck on an island with the only rule being no sexual touching, and every rule break results in a deduction of the prize pot.

Binged it this weekend, and it is the epitome of trashy reality TV. It's starting to trend like Love is Blind did. Netflix has been killing the reality TV genre lately. It's not as good as The Circle, but I enjoyed it more than Love is Blind (wife thought Love is Blind was better).

Yeah, I didn't make it through the first episode.

There needs to be another season of The Circle.

I don't understand the premise. Why not just go the other way and encourage everybody to hook up? Show nudity, but edit it down to softcore. Trying to make people more chaste was dumb..

I finished it. Thought it was meh - and I enjoy trashy reality TV.

Premise is kind of interesting except for the fact that they’re incredibly vague about the rules and who gets the money. They start at $100,000 and any rule breaks (kissing, sexual acts, masturbation) come with penalties of varying $ amounts that bring down the $100K - based on the level of “rule break”. I wasn’t sure if that was per individual or a pot to be split amongst the 10 participants until a few episodes in where I just assumed it was to be split.

SPOILERS

At the end they make it seem like they’re going to choose a few people to split the money but it ends up going to everyone. So the pot ends up at 75k and it’s split 10 ways. Everyone gets $7,500 . I don’t know how long these people were there, I assume a few weeks at least, but funny to me that the shows entire premise is a $ payout and it’s a measly $7,500. Factoring in the time away from work, money these people spent on new clothes to go, etc. they probably all lost money or broke even. I know they do this for the fame and to try to be a reality star but still.

The show would’ve been good if they made the stakes real enough to care about. These people were supposed to abstain from sex for, at most $10k? At the beginning people were upset when rules were broke and cost money. Halfway through no one really cared anymore because why would they? It would’ve been great if they told people the pot would be split, and start the pot at $1M. Would’ve been more drama and people getting pissed at each other for costing others money. As it was, a kiss would take away $300 of payout for someone. Would’ve loved to see the drama if everyone was losing $3,000 for each kiss

I tried but only made it through half the second episode. I’m a sucker for trashy reality but couldn’t get into this one.

The money break down was sex $20,000 BJ $6,000 Kissing $3,000.

The girls were hot but DUMB. The chick from Florida (Haley) was one of the dumbest people I have ever seen on TV. I thought it was funny that all of these sociopaths were so used to other people pursuing them that they didn't know how to actually hold a conversation.

BJ was a hell of a bargain IMO

I would love to kick it with Chloe and Nicole, they actually seemed cool as hell. Chloe is for sure not relationship type though.

Felt bad for Kelz, dude had the ultimate self-control and kept getting screwed over.

It’s pretty trashy. But I enjoyed the ride. The ending was pretty lackluster tbh.

**I did like the fact that they went global with the casting. I think more reality shows should go that route in the future.

I just disliked every person on the show.

This was the terrible version of love island.

I felt bad for Nicole. She didn't get any tv time. David grew on me as far as not being a huge tool.

I'm just glad Netflix into the trash reality tv show game. They really need to take aim at The Bachelor imho.

Pretty sure this experiment was for a month. Nevertheless, your point still stands. If someone was offering me 10k not to sleep with 9 other people for a month. I could do it. Hell, the folks who got kicked off the island for not even trying are just as fricking stupid as the folks who wasted 3k for making out in my book.

This. Nice idea, terrible execution.

Bad narrator with bad jokes. Add in an "Alexa" that keeps track of them. Terrible.

ETA: And this is from someone who loves Temptation Island.

I make more than 10K per month at my day job. I’m not going to hang out with social media influencers for that price or even double it. Those people’s personalities or lack there of have to be exhausting.

Like I said, I only made it through and episode and a half, but I thought they all had a chance at $100,000/individually.

Why on earth are you on a forum bragging about not having to go on a dating reality show? Was the internet clout really worth this post?

I'm on episode 7.. This show is pretty bad. A lot of it seems forced. The only conversations are about sex and how bad they want to have it. And I understand that's the point of the show, but the "deeper connections" that they build are basically just paying each other complements and saying how bad they want to frick each other but can't.

Rhonda and Sharron are the only people that talk about anything real. I do like the fact that they picked people from all over the world, that's kind of a fresh take. Harry and David seem like a couple of really nice blokes.
