This might be one of the most entertaining and funny endings I’ve seen. Tom Cruise in that fat suit dancing to Get Back by Ludacris as the cast list scrolls with scenes from the movie

Some of the hardest I’ve ever laughed in my life was when stiller chucks the kid off the bridge while running away. Was not ready for it and the gag landed effortlessly

Watched this again a couple weeks ago. It's fricking hilarious.

Sadly, it would not be possible to make in today's society.

The most underrated part of the movie was this simple quote when Tug is talking about adoption.

Pecker: “Well, at least you get to choose yours. I’m stuck with mine.”

It’s a perfect visual metaphor for that cupcake game your team struggles with midway through the 3rd before fatigue sets in and you end up winning by 28 in the 4th

The most underrated part is the dvd commentary.

RDJ’s character says “I don’t drop character til I do the dvd commentary,” at some point in the movie.

Welp, RDJ does Lincoln Osiris the whole dvd commentary. Almost as funny as the movie

The coming attractions segment alone is funny as hell.

Winner of the Beijing Flim festival crying monkey award.

Be honest, how many of you weren't sure that Les Grossman was Tom Cruise until the credits?

Yes it could and I knew some Dbag would say this. Happens every time someone brings up a movie from 10 plus years ago.

There's no fricking way.

It makes fun of Asians, retards, gays, has blackface, etc.

No studio in Woke Hollywood would touch this today.

The blackface alone would have caused it to not be green-lit. The way the movie turned out it could have been retroactively deemed acceptable by even the more woke types, but you're a few layers deep before you realize the butt of the joke is "method acting."

However, you have to greenlight the film on just a script and a storyboard, and in a full-blown social media world a modern studio is going to be really hesitant to do that.

Think of risks such as a leak of a still of RDJ in blackface, context free, during filming on Twitter or Reddit, which were in their infancy of influence in '08 (or more realistically '07 when filming started), but can destroy careers now. This was still the era when Facebook was just emerging from requiring a .edu e-mail address to sign up.

Even if you don't go that far, no studio (who are now trying to meet Chinese sensibilities for that market) is going to approve of the "Beijing Film Festival Flying Monkey Award" gag. The disability gags and Simple Jack story was a controversy even at the time of release.

What I love is this movie was released only three months after Iron Man

Wasn't sure? I had no idea!

But then, I also didn't recognize RDJ.

Guilty as charged. I had no fricking clue and my mind was completely and totally blown when that credit rolled.

The best part is apparently Stiller sent the script to his friend Cruise just to see if it was any good and the Grossman character wasn’t there, Cruise told him it was missing something and Cruise came up with the character Grossman and talk Stiller into letting him play the part.
