Thoughts?

Never mind Achilles being black, (Which IMO would be more historically accurate than Brad Pitts run at it) but him being gay, or bisexual?

Over all IMO good show.

I didn't make it past the scene with Paris meeting gods in the woods. It just seemed really dumb.

I'll give it a more fair shake. I've heard of enough people liking it to give it a full episode or two.

It is far too dumb. I made it an episode and will not return. Paris is way too much of a bitch. He acts like a sniveling brat.

not really Achilles was Greek. Greeks, just like today werent black. Now Hector. Hector could have been black to brown.

there has always been a theory of this. It even hints to that in Brad Pitts movie with the relationship between him and his cousin. They were lovers in many interpretations.

Just noticing this part of your post. You know he's a mythological character, right?

Yes I do.

It's a figure of speech.

This

Menelaus is a duck.

Helen is not that hot and has a daughter.

They went for realism when people expect spectacle.

In the original story, Paris was a little bitch. This show follows the source material closest that I’ve seen

Pretty big crowd like to say he was because he was so close to his best friend. Many OT hers simply say they were actually just best friends that trusted each other with their lives. No direct evidence of them being more.

Show was bad IMO. Casting was all over the place and fight scenes were god awful. Achilles killed like 8 personal guards of Priam and gets hit by an arrow that defies physics shot off of horseback. Paris fleeing the battle scene was also hilariously bad. Middle of a battle field and no one can stop him?

That’s how the story goes. In Homer’s tale, Apollo guided the arrow to kill Achilles. Apollo favored Paris. Paris was a bitch and did embarrass himself and Troy by leaving the battle.

Read the source material before criticizing the script. Bc you are talking shite about one of the most epic stories in history

Makes no sense. There is zero reason other than PC/marketing why Achilles would ever be black.

by figs.

Companionship was highly thought of back then, and women were seen more as baby makers than companions. Like the oldest story of Gilgamesh, great men had great companions. It didn't mean they were all figs.

It’s become gospel that Greek and Roman men were always fricking each other and fricking young boys. I can’t help but to think this is overstated. Maybe it’s not overstated but human nature hasn’t changed that much in 2000 years. Straight men simply don’t want to frick other straight men. That’s not something that should become a cultural staple amongst straight men. If people are born gay, as I believe they are, then were masses of Greeks and Romans born gay? Makes no sense.

random thought....do you think Greek and Rome was more like Asia where sexuality just isnt as important in the hierarchy of what makes people, people? There is a reason there are a ton of ladyboys over there. and it isnt cause people arent paying for it.
