Anybody else watch this series on Netflix? I really enjoyed it.

As Little Rock natives we had to give it a go.
Binged it till the next to last episode. Had to take a break and haven't finished although I read the "ending" so to speak.
There's been a ton of backlash on the sheriff. He did not inform the Quorum court about the show filming and a judge ruled he had no authority to enter into a contract with Netfilx. Now Randall the inmate is suing for like $1.2 million because he didn't sign up to act and thinks a jury will see him in a different light because of the show.

They had to know they were gonna make hooch and smoke what ever they could get they're hands on. In this show it was coffee on paper towels lol.

Coffee sticks lol
I've read about other prisons where they smoke dried banana peels, and put nutmeg in hot water to catch a buzz

I was shocked at how well the experiment worked to the point it makes me believe this was somewhat fake.
Also could not imagine living life for years doing the 23 and 1 lifestyle. That has to really suck and not a way to rehabilitate non lifers which most of these were seeing how it was a county jail. That would drive me mentally insane.

I think they strategically chose which unit to try it on. They knew who the alpha in the unit was and that he would seize control but not go too overboard. I forget the names but without the black guy that took control over the first few weeks, they would have been back to 23 and 1 within 48 hours.
I think the concept can work if the officers throw anyone that acts up in solitary for a while but they have to consistent. The choice is do drugs or fight and lose all privileges or behave and get some freedom. I don't think it can work as the whole jail though. If there wasn't any consequences, no one would behave.

1) I'd argue that jury would see him in a better light because of the show. He took control and then treated people mostly fair and kept order.
2) I'd also say he DID sign up to be an actor when he agreed to be interviewed over and over.

I don't know everyone's names but I loved the old guy that was constantly preaching about following the rules but making hooch and getting everyone drunk in his cell. When he was called out on being a hypocrite he lost his mind lol.

True Story missed his calling as an NFL free safety. The ease with which he picked up that big boy that was talking shite to him was terrifying.
So much wasted talent in that place. Tiny could have been a hell of a featherweight. That tattoo artist could have been a, umm, tattoo artist.
Also:
Deputy Jessie Owens can fricking get it:

I’d be shocked if Deputy Owen’s isn’t f’ing an inmate.
True Story has grown man strength…agreed. Prob why nobody pushed back to hard.
Mayham could’ve hooped it up for the hogs.
My favorite character was the old James Harden looking dude. Only one the whole series that made sense.
