Valentine (2001) - An ode to 80s slasher films

In honor of Valentine's Day, I would like to talk about this gem of a slasher which was panned by critics but adored by me. For those of you unaware of the plot, it's very simple: guy in cupid mask stalks and kills attractive co-eds for bullying him when they were in middle school together.
Who do you cast to play the co-eds? Only some of the hottest B-list actresses from the period:
Marley Shelton
Denise Richards
Katherine Heigl
Jessica Cauffiel
Jessica Capshaw
The kills are fairly fun though not necessarily original. AND we get to see Denise Richards in a hot tub wearing a very sexy bikini, though I'm sure all of us were satiated with her rack when she did Wild Things three years earlier.

Love this movie (and this era of horror in general).

Ehh... I saw this in theaters and remember being extremely bored and disappointed to the point that I apologized to the girl I went with for it being so lame. Maybe I'll watch it again to see if I change my mind but I'd put this at the level of the remake of The Fog; a movie w/a few interesting visuals (mainly the Cupid mask & nose bleed imagery) and not much else.

4.9 imdb is low. I like this movie.
